Obituary: God called home one of his faithful angels. Frances passed away with complications from pulmonary Fibrosis. She was 100 years young. Born on 13, 1913 she was the daughter of Pearl and Thomas Marion Fisher. Frances had a great impact on her family and a positive Christian influence on all her knew her. She had a beautiful smile and a knack for making friends where ever she went. Time was of no matter to Frances, as she took time to visit with family and friends and making new friends. A loyal servant of the Lord, she was an active and dedicated member of Park Cities Baptist Church, Amitie School Class, Prime Time Seniors, Widows Group, Variety Book Club, Libris Book Club and two table bridge with her buddies. At 100 years of age she was quite an active amazing woman and such an inspiration to us all! Frances attended University of Texas in Austin also working as a buyer at Scarboroughs, where she met Harry Meyers. married and had four children. Twin sons, Terry and Harry, son Billy, and daughter Marilyn. In her earlier years, she was active at the First Baptist Church in Austin, WMU, PTA, Austin Womans Club, The Austin Club, Antique Club, and Bridge! She is predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Harry Cook Meyers, Austin, Texas, her son James Terrence Meyers (Terry) of Dallas, and son William Fisher Meyers (Billy), Industry, Texas. She is survived by her son Thomas Harry Meyers and wife Diana of Oklahoma City, OK, Marilyn Frances Meyers McElroy and husband Terry of Dallas, daughter in law Linda Meyers of Dallas, Mable Meyers of Industry, Texas. Frances has ten grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild. A gracious thank you to the Visiting Nurses Association. In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be given to Prime Time Ministries at Park Cities Baptist Church, 3933 Northwest Parkway, Dallas, TX. 75225, or Visiting Nurses Association of Dallas, 1600 Viceroy, Suite 400, Dallas, TX. 75235. Obituary: Charles Jordan Meyers, a romantic soul who always lived life on his own terms, died of a heart attack , May 3, 2015, at his home on Toledo Bend Reservoir near Milam. He was 60. He was born 25, 1954 in Austin, the first of four children of Judge James Rezia Meyers of Houston and Barbara Jean Jordan Meyers of Livingston. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School, The University of Texas @ Austin with a bachelors degree in English and South Texas of Law. passing the Texas Bar, he worked for the Texas Attorney Generals office in Austin, where he met Holly Knotts Perkins. The two young attorneys married in 1987 and moved to Lufkin, where they practiced law with her father, attorney William Drew Perkins. Although he always considered himself an Austin boy, he engaged in many activities in Lufkin. He was president for two years of the Lufkin High School Boys Soccer Booster Club. He provided legal assistance to the local chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. He coached sports teams of his three sons. And he gave countless pro bono legal work to those without means to pay for it. Charlie, as he was known, had a strong passion for healthy debates, righteous causes and good times (and especially smoky scotch.) He had a mischievous smile that sparkled with eyes that twinkled as if he knew an inside joke that others didn . He was never short of an opinion and rarely short on words. He was hard-headed yet forgiving. He was a golfer and a yellow-dog Democrat, and he couldn understand why everyone else wasn . He knew the Houston Astros were rebuilding the right way, from the bottom up. But, above all, Charlie was a family man, and a terrific one. It was as if his whole life had prepared him to raise three sons and instill them with wisdom. Together, Charlie and Holly have raised a family filled with laughter, love and countless wonderful moments together. He was a terrific father. He is survived by his wife, Judge Holly Knotts Perkins Meyers; his father, Judge James Rezia Meyers and wife Mary Ann Auler Meyers of Austin; his mother, Barbara Jordan Meyers of Dripping Springs; three sons, Carter Avery Meyers (25) of Houston, Sterling Hardin Meyers (24) of Lufkin, and Miller Jarvis Meyers (21) of Lufkin; two sisters, Anna Katherine Meyers Smith of Austin and Martha Eddings Meyers of Houston; and a brother, James Stephen Meyers of Austin. A graveside memorial ceremony will be held at 2:30 p.m. , May 7, 2015 at Tom Walker , 5 miles north of Lufkin in Redland on U.S. 59 at the intersection of FM 2021. A celebration will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Restoration Wine Bar, 210 South First Street in Lufkin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in his name are made to a fund that is buying rings for the members of the 2015 Lufkin Panthers state championship soccer team.
