Obituary: EuAlice Dean McMillan, 77, passed away peacefully on , 11, 2015, in Abilene, Texas. EuAlice was born in Wichita Falls, TX on May 11, 1937. She was the second child of the late Melvin (M.E.) and Susie Davidson. She is survived by her sister, Earlene Perry; as well as her three sons and their wives, Mark & Diana, Brent and Kathleen, and Scott and Jennifer; along with eight grandchildren, Kristen, Bryan, Bethany, Brady, Leanna, Rachel, Casey, and Andrea. EuAlice grew up in Wichita Falls and moved to Abilene, TX when her father started working for TXDOT. In Abilene, she attended Abilene Christian . It was there that she met her husband, Earle, and they were married on May 28, 1957. She graduated from Abilene Christian with a BS in Business Education in 1957. She was a member of GATA Women's Social Club, Kappa Delta Pi (Education Honor Society), Concert Chorale and Student Education Association. left for Scotland in 1959 so Earle could pursue advanced studies at the University of Edinburgh and St. Andrews University. While at the University of Edinburgh they gave birth to their first son Mark. then returned to the states and while Earle was teaching at Abilene Christian they had their second son, Brent. In 1965 they once again decided to return to Scotland, this time to St. Andrews, so Earle could get his PhD. EuAlice was a big help to Earle with his PhD, she did all the typing with all the Biblical languages on a manual type writer - a true act of love. While at St. Andrews they helped out with the local church there and had their third son, Scott. During their various times in Scotland, Earle and EuAlice found a big interest in antiques and returned many times over the years to shop. Earle and EuAlice set up an antique store here in Abilene that was open on the weekends. EuAlice loved to help with the antiques and could literally tell you a story about almost every piece they bought. Earle and EuAlice lived most of their lives in Abilene, TX. She was a devoted wife and mother. EuAlice was a life-long member of Minter Lane Church of Christ in Abilene. In their early years EuAlice and Earle loved to travel, touring countries all over Europe and Africa. Obituary: Edgar Dean McMillan, Sr., 80, passed away peacefully after a sudden illness on , 26, 2014 with his family by his side in Abilene, Texas. With heavy hearts we celebrate his life as a devoted husband, loving father, adoring grandfather, and proud great-grandfather. Services will be 1:00p.m. on , 31, 2014 at Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South with burial in the Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories . The family will receive friends at a visitation this evening, , 30, 2014 from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at the funeral home. Ed was born in Lovelady, Texas on May 11, 1934 to Arthur Clenton and Ollie Mae (Corbit) McMillan. At the early age of 17 he joined the National Guard and at age 19 joined the Air Force. He trained and mastered the skills to become a Boom Operator in the K-C135 serving in Vietnam. He was extremely good at what he did and was chosen to do the first night refueling of the B-1A. This was just one of the many awards and achievements he earned while proudly serving his country for 30 years. His medals included the Meritorious Service Medal, AF Commendation Medal, Air Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Combat Readiness Medal, AF Longevity Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, AF Presidential Unit Citation, AF Outstanding Unit Award, RVN Campaign Medal, and the RFN Gallantry Cross. He was such a proud and patriotic veteran. During his service he married his sweetheart and love of his life, Bobbie Ramirez in Las Cruces, NM on May 3, 1957. being stationed in Michigan for a short time in the 70s he moved his family back to Texas so they could be closer to his mom and sisters. Upon retirement from the service he managed the Triangle Lanes Bowling Alley for several years as well as the Dyess Bowling Alley. He loved bowling, as did his wife and kids. He bowled on leagues with his wife, son, and two daughters. He encouraged this to be a family activity as his family was his most beloved thing in life. He had many accomplishments in this time and made many friends over these years. retiring from managing the bowling alleys, he continued bowling until he wasn able to participate anymore. His other hobbies and interest were vast and never ending. His love of flying had him building model airplanes and model cars. He loved watching football. He was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed watching his Cowboys. He would talk for hours about the Cowboys, current players or retired - he knew it all. If anyone ever needed to know something about the Cowboys, he was the one they called. He was ecstatic at the season they are having this year. Preceding Ed in death were his parents, and his wife. Survivors include his two daughters, Pat Sartain and husband, David and Jeannie Leetch all of Abilene; one son, Edgar Dean McMillan, Jr. and wife, Amber of Abilene; two loving sisters, Ann Dobbs of Krum, TX, and Faye Cook of Crockett, TX. He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren, David, Steven, Scott & Vanessa, Katie & Joe, Nikki, Cason, Krista, Dillon, and Taylor; and eleven great-grandchildren, Sarahi, Lincoln, Lilly, Madison, Kristen, Jaiden, Little Joe, Eden, Starla, Trey, and Winston, Jr. The family wishes to thank the physicians and staff at Hendrick Medical , with a very special thanks to Brandon, his ICU nurse for their compassionate and professional care during our fathers last couple of days. We are very grateful. Ed would be honored for any remembrances made on his behalf to the Veterans of Foreign Wars. |

Obituary: Services for Dr. Edgar R. McMillan, 78, of Tyler are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., , 27, 2010 at Lloyd James Chapel with Dr. Charles Dodson officiating. Burial is at Rose Hill . Dr. McMillan passed away on , 24, 2010 in Tyler. He was born on 28, 1930 in Bullard to the late R. T. and Dixie Turner McMillan. He was a graduate of Tyler High School, Tyler Junior and ETSU (now Texas A&M at Commerce) where he received his Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Education degree. He received a Doctor of Education degree from Western Colorado University. He was a teacher at Pine Springs for 3 years, the principal at Mattie Jones for 4 years, Marsh Elementary for 3 years, Rice Elementary for 22 years and Bonner Elementary for 5 years. He was a charter member and a deacon at The Woods Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War for 4 years where he received a purple heart and an air medal. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion. He was named as the 1982 outstanding principal by the state PTA. He was a life member of the local and national PTA as well as the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervision Association (TEPSA). He was listed in Whos Who in Education, was an Eagle Scout and unit commissioner of the Boy Scouts of America. He was a charter member and first president of Rose Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa. He was a life member of St. Johns Masonic Lodge, charter member of Sharon Shrine Temple and former member of Sharon Shrine Band. He was chairman of the Board of the Cooperative Teachers Credit Union for 17 years. retirement in 1996 he was chosen as one of the Tyler Independent School Districts 120 nominated heroes. He was also a ETMC volunteer for 12 years. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Bennie Jean McMillan of Tyler; sons John McMillan of Arp and Scott McMillan and wife Shana of Burleson; grandchildren Hanna and Chelsea The family wishes to express a special thanks to the Hamptons at Pine Forest memory care and Heart to Heart Hospice.
