Obituary: Ronald R. McIntyre, age 90, passed away on , 16, 2008. Born in Battenburg, Alberta Canada to wonderful parents, Albert us McIntyre and Alice Maude Gertrude Bremner McIntyre. He served in the Army as a member of the 95th Division, Battery B, 360th Field Artillery Unit known as he Iron Men of the Metz who liberated Metz, France in WWII. This division also fought in the Battle of the Bulge under General George S. Patton. He is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Bessie Barr McIntyre; his step-mother, Glennie Kendall McIntyre and eleven brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughters: Jean Miles and husband, Ben; Joyce McDonald and husband, Robert; grandchildren: Scott McDonald, Laura McDonald and husband, Mauricio Portasio; Heather McDonald Lotts and husband, Gary; and great-grandchildren: Josie Lotts, Gavin Lotts, Branden Lotts, Kathryn Miles Pearson, Cole Pearson and Finian Butler. Obituary: MCINTYRE, MAX NELSON passed away , 3, 2014 at the age of 86, in Plano, Texas. He was born 6, 1928 in Corinth, Mississippi, the oldest of three sons of Paul Lanning McIntyre and Johnnie Faye Maxcy McIntyre. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. McIntyre, also known as Barn, Barney or Grandpa Barney, is survived by three children, Timothy Paul, of Marble Falls, Patrick Dennis, of The Woodlands, and Catherine Ann, of Dallas; four granddaughters, Shawna Alexander and husband, Jason, Stephanie and Shannon Wantuck, and Kelly Ann Tumey and husband, Ronnie; twin great-granddaughters, Natalie and Autumn Tumey; two brothers, Jim, and wife, Frances, of Austin; Richard, and wife, Sue, of Cordova, Tennessee; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins; and long-time good friend Dr. Keith Clark and his wife, Tammy. Mr. McIntyre, while still in his teens, enlisted in the U.S. Navy eight months after the end of World War II. training to become a hospital corpsman, he worked with servicemen suffering from brain injuries. He also served as the ships doc on a mine sweeper in the Mediterranean. While stationed in Jacksonville, Florida, Mr. McIntyre met and married Millicent Jean Barnett, a Navy nurse (now deceased). were married 27 years and had three children. Twelve years after entering the Navy, he was commissioned as an officer in the Medical Service Corps, and spent much of the rest of his career in hospital administration. He retired from the Navy in 1969, after 23 years of service, with the rank of Lt. Commander. retiring from the Navy, Mr. McIntyre returned to school, earning a BA degree in Marketing from the University of Texas at Austin. He then worked for the Texas Dept. of until his retirement in 1990. Mr. McIntyre was an avid reader, a serious student of military history, and an accomplished golfer. He had a great fondness for music – especially country music. He loved to hunt with his sons and Dr. Clark. He was a loyal friend; he was as reliable as the sun; and he was very vocal in the pride he felt for his children. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and most recently, his two great-granddaughters, as well as countless friends. Visitation will be , 8, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Restland in Dallas. services will be held , 9, 2014 at 10:00 AM in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland. Interment will follow. Many thanks to Dr. Weber of Bryan, TX, for all his care and friendship to Mr. McIntyre over the past 15 years. |
