Obituary: Eva Jo McIntyre, 86, a vocalist who for decades was an integral part of the San Antonio classical music scene, died of natural causes on 14, 2012. Eva Jo was born in Dallas, Texas on 1, 1925. She was an only child and when her mom and dad moved to San Antonio in the late 1920s, young Eva Jo had already shown an affinity for music. Following graduation from high school, she received a scholarship to study voice at the prestigious Peabody Academy in Baltimore. She started singing professionally while still a teenager, and at age 22 married her high school sweetheart, Keith McIntyre. remained married until Keiths passing in 1997. During the 1960s, Keith and Eva Jo were active members of the San Antonio art scene, founding a madrigal group that included many San Antonio luminaries. Eva Jo was also a member of San Antonio Musical Club. For almost three decades, Eva Jo was the primary soloist at Central Christian Church where she developed a 20-year partnership with choir director Harold Herndon and organist George Gregory. She was also primary soloist at Porter Loring Mortuary for 30 years, and after she retired as a singer remained with Porter Loring as receptionist for another 30 years. Eva Jo is survived by her daughter Lynne Dulmaine, her two sons Christopher McIntyre and Brian McIntyre, as well as six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and her dog, Lucy. Eva Jo will lie in state beginning on , 17th from 12:00 Noon until 9:00 pm at Porter Loring on McCullough. A Memorial Service will be held 19, 2012 at 11:00 am at Porter Loring Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to KPAC, the classical Public Radio station that Eva Jo listened to every day. |

Obituary: Carolyn Watford McIntyre of Plano, TX, passed away peacefully on 25, 2010. She was born on 8, 1914 in Orangeburg, SC to Samuel and Lizzie Watford. On 9, 1932, she married James Talmadge McIntyre who preceded her in death in 1984. made their home in Vidalia, Georgia. She worked in sales much of her adult life. In 1991 Carolyn moved to Plano, TX to be near her daughter. She quickly made a home for herself and became an active member of the community as a volunteer for Medical of Plano and as a member of Grace Presbyterian Church. In 1996 she was nominated for the Planos Treasure Award as a result of her volunteerism. Her desire to give to others even continued when she moved to assisted living. Each year she would solicit food and funds from her fellow residents for the Plano Food Pantry. Carolyn also enjoyed her book club and her bridge group. She continued to play bridge until her 95th year. Carolyn took great pride in her children, grandchildren and great-grand children. She is survived by son James McIntyre and wife Maureen of Clifton, VA and by her daughter Marilyn Amen and husband Gerald of Plano, TX. Grandchildren are Kathleen McGill and husband Michael of Bethesda, MD; Cynthia Giorgio and husband Hugh of Davidsonville, MD; Karen Welch and husband Michael of Lovettsville, VA; Christopher Amen and wife Carmen of Las Vegas, NV; and Timothy Amen and wife Meara of Phoenix, AZ. Great- grandchildren are Kelsey and Emily Giorgio; Isabelle Welch; Victoria, Carson, and Joseph Amen; and Elina and Bryson Amen. She will be greatly missed by her family. Obituary: MCINTYRE Bobby Joe McIntyre, age 70, passed away on , 11, 2010 in San Antonio. Bob was born 4, 1940 in Decatur, AL to parents, Noah and Bessie Mae McIntyre. His family moved to Fort Worth in 1947 where he attended Polytechnic High School and Arlington State . He later graduated from Southwest Texas with a BAAS in Hospital Administration. Bob enjoyed a long and rewarding career as a nurse and hospital administrator. Bob proudly served 26 years in the military including enlistments in the Navy, Army National Guard and Navy Reserve. In 2000 he retired from the Navy Reserve as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. His military career accomplishments include being named Sailor of the Quarter and receiving a Meritorious Service medal and multiple Letters of Commendation. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite and Shriners. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Noah Gene McIntyre and sister, Shirley Brown. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Barbara and daughter, Kim. He is also survived by his sister, Pat Goodin and numerous cousins. He will be remembered for his humor, strength and love.
