Born in Quincy Massachusetts and grew up in Lebanon Pennsylvania, the son of Charles and Constance McGowan, attended Lebanon SR High (1976), Key Stone Jr & Penn State University Class 1984. He was employed by Sears - Improvement. A beloved selfless man who loved the water and helping those he loved was his passion. He will be missed for his abilities to calm a situation and his witty humor and obsession for Wonton Soup. Obituary: Charlotte Ann Martin McGowan, 68, of El Paso, a lifelong devoted Librarian passed away peacefully and went to be with her Lord on 8, 2015. Charlotte was born to Rubert and Bernice Martin on 8, 1947 in Brownfield, Texas. From an early age Charlotte knew that books in the library were her true passion. She received her first of many Masters Degrees from Texas Womens University in Denton, Texas in 1969 and began her career. For the next 18 years she worked as a librarian for Texas Tech University. She married Ronnie Hickson in 1965 and had two beautiful children, Kurt and Brandi Hickson. In 1988 she embarked on a new journey to teach young children the love of learning and new books. Charlotte was the librarian of Campestre Elementary for Socorro ISD in El Paso, Texas until 2015. She married Donald Eugene McGowan in 1989 who resides in their home in El Paso, Texas. Charlotte is survived by her husband Gene McGowan of El Paso, Texas, her daughter Brandi Hickson of Lubbock, her son and daughter-in- law Kurt and Carrie Hickson of Lubbock, three grandchildren Desirae Hickson of Lake Dallas, Danielle Hickson of Denton, and Brian Hickson of Lubbock. Charlotte will be laid to rest across the path from her parents. |

Obituary: Bennie McGowan, 87, of Sherman, Texas, passed away on morning, 12th. Bennie was born 4, 1926, and was raised in Loraine, Texas. He graduated from Loraine High School and then joined the army. He served in WWII and Korea. his army service was completed, he was employed by Gulf Oil and later by Atlantic Richfield. He spent most of his oilfield years living and working in the Odessa, Texas area. He retired from Atlantic Richfield in 1985. He was preceded in death by his grandparents who raised him. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Ethelyn and his stepdaughter, Judy. Bennie loved to camp and to travel. He spent many enjoyable years pulling a travel trailer across most of America. He also enjoyed just riding around and looking at the country side. For the past couple of years Bennie lived at the Renaissance in Sherman. He was very fond of his caregivers and very appreciative of all that they did for him. Bennie is survived by his wife of 30 years, Verna McGowan. He is also survived by his stepson Chris Cowen and his wife Shara of Sherman, Texas, as well as James Cowen of Bandera, Texas. There will be no family night.
