Obituary: Delbert McDaniel 91 services will be at 10:00 a.m. , 7, 2015 at The Church At Quail Creek with Pastor Dale Moreland officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park by Griggs Schooler Gordon Directors. Military Honors provided by Volleys for Veterans. Delbert Allan McDaniel left afternoon, 3, 2015, for Heaven to reunite with the love of his life, Mary Elizabeth Highfill McDaniel. He was born on 5, 1924 in Woodward, OK to William and Ernestine Shepherd McDaniel. Delbert was the oldest of their seven children. Delbert and Mary were married in the First Baptist Church of Mooreland, OK on 15, 1949 by the same minister that married her parents. Delberts Baptist christian values with a strong work ethic were taught to all. His generosity, compassion, understanding, and love were given to all. He was always there for everyone with encouragement and kindness. Dad was a survivor. He survived the Great Depression of the 1930s, as a WWII vet he survived the sinking of his ship, the USS Princeton, in the Gulf of Leyte in the South Pacific, he survived the Woodward tornado of 9, 1947 that took the lives of 169 people, as an independent trucker he survived a near fatal trucking accident that left both of his legs with compound fractures, and he survived the never ending parenting of three children, Delbert took great pride in his service to his country as a WWII veteran and remained an active member in his ships associations publication, The Tiger Rag. With family in tow from Woodward he moved to Amarillo to open the first Beaver agency on north Polk in 1959. Delbert would later retire as one of its first and most tenured employees. Family was what dad was most proud and all about, He was a loving and caring son, brother, uncle, cousin, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, and was affectionately known by family members and their friends as PePa. Dad lived his life to the fullest, loved his family and will be missed by all. Delbert will be reunited with his wife, father, mother, brothers, Leo, Alvin and Donnie, sisters, Billie Loghry and Sue Elston, a grandson, Wade McDaniel, and a son-in-law, Wayne Williams in Heaven. Delbert is survived by a son, Harold McDaniel and wife Pat; two daughters, Connie McKinney and husband Roger and Janice Black and husband John; six grandkids, Casey McDaniel and wife Kathi, Ryan McKinney and wife Dee, Brent McKinney, Jessica Pershall and husband Cory, Jenna Gorman and husband Mark and James Black; ten great-grandkids, Madison, Molly, Christi Beth, Joshua, Caleb, Ashby, Rachel, Riley, Micah and Alexis; and a brother, Dale McDaniel. In lieu of flowers, give a loved one a hug and Ahoy from Delbert. Special thanks to all at Baptist St. Anthonys Hospice. Awesome people. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. today at the funeral home. |

Obituary: Clifford (Danny Lucas) McDaniel, 84, passed away on , 15th, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Jo McDaniel, and their children and grandchildren: Cliff McDaniel, Jr. and his wife Paula McDaniel; their daughters Melissa McDaniel and Kaitlyn McDaniel, and Danny Joe McDaniel: daughter Danielle McDaniel, son Joseph Lee McDaniel; step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren: Benjamin and Lisa Moya, their children: Benny, Brianna and Andrew Moya; Priscilla Moya and her daughter Gabby Dominguez; Elizabeth Moya and her children Deandra Moya, Ayden and Madelyn Quinn. Danny was born on a farm in Hemmingway, South Carolina, and was raised by his mother Lil, and his wonderful aunts and other relatives. He began playing trumpet at a young age, but then discovered that his true passion was the drums. He honed his technique and developed some serious chops, and the pros began to take notice. Due to high demand, he began touring the world as a drummer with some of the biggest acts of the day. These travels led him to Amarillo, Texas, where he met his bride-to-be, the beautiful Betty Jo. eventually settled down in El Paso, where his mother had relocated, to raise their two young sons and offer his mother the support that she needed. He began working at the music store "The Melody Shop", and there began to grow the dream of opening up his own music store. dreaming, saving, and carefully planning, he opened "Danny's Music Box" in 1970 - ushering in a new era for the musicians of El Paso and the surrounding area. Danny would always say, in his enthusiastic way, "Tell them where you got it!", and they did, quickly cementing him a special place in the El Paso music community. Danny had a unique understanding of the needs of his fellow musicians. Whether someone was a pro, or just starting out, he found joy in encouraging their passion for music. He always went the extra mile for others who made their living playing gigs. He lived and breathed music 24/7, 365 days a year. He brought his sons into the music business, and his passion and love for music and his desire to better the lives of those around him now transcends 4 generations. No one could ask for a better husband, father, grandfather, or friend. He gave 100% to everything he did. Visitation will be , 20th from 6:00pm until 9:00PM at Hillcrest on 1060 N.
