Obituary: Erin McCleskey, 36, of Austin, Texas, passed away on 15, 2016. Erin was born in Temple, Texas on 10, 1979. She graduated from Anderson High School and continued to attend Sam Houston State University where she studied marketing. Erin was an entrepreneur. She had an artistic eye for creating beautiful things, and loved to practice photography, especially taking pictures of Lake Austin in her own backyard. She enjoyed volunteering at the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired in her spare time. Erin had a passion for animals, especially her cats. Gabe, our family Sheltie will miss her immensely. As anyone who ever met her would tell you, Erin was incredibly fun to be with. She had a great sense of humor and an unforgettable contagious laugh. She had a delightful and infectious smile. She was a smart and resilient woman, loyal daughter, aunt and friend. Above all, being an aunt was Erins joy. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews and loved and cared for each of them as if they were her own. Erins family and friends are heartbroken at this loss, but her sweet and loving spirit will be forever remembered by everyone who knew her. Erin is survived by her grandparents Albert and Joanie Shapiro, parents Michael and Casimiera Shapiro, sisters Taylor and Melissa Shapiro and Brittany McCleskey Pecoy and husband Joel, brothers Chesley and wife Randi, and Jason Shapiro and girlfriend Erin Ball, nieces Ashlynn and Violet, nephews Chesley, Jr. and William, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends. Erin is preceded in death by her father, Ben Michael McCleskey, grandparents, Paul and Julia Samojedny, grandmothers, Pat Miller, Sandy Shapiro. A private celebration of Erins life will be held on 19th. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. |

Obituary: Alton O. McCleskey, 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior on 27 after a lengthy battle with heart disease. His wife of 62 years, Margaret Ann, never left his side. Born 14, 1921 in Manitou, Oklahoma, he graduated from high school in Ysleta, Texas in 1938. On his 20th birthday, as soon as Uncle Sam would let him, he hitchhiked to San Angelo, Texas to join the Army Air Forces to begin his flight training. At the age of 21, he was assigned as the pilot of his beloved B24 Liberator which he and his crew named sick Angel. He piloted 30 successful bombing missions in the Central Pacific Theatre of World War II. Many of the missions required him to be at the helm of the plane for over 13 hours each direction. his service to our country ended in 1945 he returned to Eunice, New Mexico where he met the love of his life, Margaret Ann Parmele. Margaret Ann had recently graduated from Baylor University and was teaching in Eunice. were married on 1, 1946 in Granger, Texas. Margaret Anns wedding dress was made from Altons silk parachute from the sick Angel. He dearly loved the crew of sick Angel and he and Margaret Ann attended every reunion until his health prevented their traveling. Alton is survived by his wife Margaret Ann; son Steve and wife Roxanne, San Antonio; daughter Jane and husband Tom Moran, Oklahoma City, OK; 6 Grandchildren: Courtney Schob and husband Brad, Ardmore, OK; Brian Eischeid, Ft. Worth, TX; Meredith Eischeid, Norman, OK; Brad, Eric and Jenna Salas, San Antonio and great grandchildren Hannah, Corinne and Oliver Schob. Preceded in death by his parents, Albin and Lillian McCleskey, brothers Ralph, Milton and Hubert McCleskey, he is survived by his sister, Mary Haislip and husband Bob, Stanton, TX; many nieces and nephews; and Bill Hope and Earl Mitchell, crew members of the sick Angel. Another of the Greatest Generation is in now in Heaven and theres a great reunion there!!! Altons family would like to thank Dr. Philip Zinn and Dr. Kiran Jayaram for the excellent cardiology care given him over the past 10 years. Thanks also to his caregiver, Geraldine Dockins for the loving care shown he and Margaret Ann over the past several weeks and to the angels of Companion Hospice, including Bonna, Sandy, Tina, and Diane.
