Obituary: San Antonio Â- Lights must have dimmed at chic tourist spots and fine dining establishments around the globe on 26, when Mary Jane Lundy McClain passed after a long illness. She was 85. The fashionable redhead was an enthusiastic world traveler who was always the center of attention, livening up any gathering with her stories and opinions, facts and wise observations, gained from her globetrotting and life experience. Born in Lakeland, FL, she moved on to Atlanta and eventually worked for the s for Disease Control and took a life-long interest in all things medical. In 1946 she married Ralph E. McClain. That is when her travels really began in earnest. With her husband she lived in a dozen states and foreign countries. She travelled widely in Europe, stopping often in her favorite European city, Venice. One of her favorite quotes said, Open my heart and you will see engraved upon it, ÂItalyÂ. Later, she and her husband took a round the world trip where they stopped at cities on every continent. She once teased her husband that she wouldn feel right until she circled the globe now going the other way. She was an avid art collector and sometimes artist. She was famous for her beautiful scarves, for her generous and frequent entertaining, and for her instant command of facts and news items. A savvy and brilliant woman she was on the leading edge of information even at her advanced age. She was known for her charitable work, for example she gave thousands of dresses at Easter and Christmas through the years. She is survived by her children, Mary McClain Blake of San Antonio, Dr. J. Bruce McClain of Lovettsville, VA., by her brother Harry Lundy of Chickamauga, GA., and by her 10 grandchildren who all called her ÂGigiÂ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202. Obituary: Services for Lorene McClain, 85, of Etoile, will be held at 10:00 a.m. , 11, 2015 in the Gipson Chapel, withPastor Eric Barton officiating. Interment will follow in the Blue Springs in Etoile. Mrs. McClain was born 4, 1930 in Nacogdoches , Texas, the daughter of the late Minnie (Redden) and John Edgar Reed. She passed away , 8, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. McClain was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She worked for Bealls Department Store for 25 years and then worked as an aide at Etoile ISD. Her passion was sewing (she began sewing at the age of 8), needlepoint, and crochet, among many others, and was a very talented seamstress. She also enjoyed tending to her flowers in her yard. She was very independent, stubborn, and strong-willed. Mrs. McClain was a member of City Church. She will be greatly missed. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Phillip Dewey of Boerne and Karen and Larry Broussard of Etoile; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; brother, Travis Reed of Silsbee; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other family members. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McClain was preceded in death by her husband, Ray McClain; daughter, Margaret Collier; grandson, Eddie Collier; and 4 brothers. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Reed, Steve Reed, Daron Lee, Bobby King, Glenn Cox, and Chris Morelock. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. evening at the funeral home. Obituary: Leo Mardis McClain, 78, of Irving, Texas, passed away 22, 2017. He was born in Seymour, Texas on May 18, 1938. Leo was in the first graduating class of Monterrey High School in Lubbock, Texas. He was married to Loretta McClain on 24, 1993. Leo had a career in Facilities Management for 18 years at Texas Instruments. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Lewisville. He was a dedicated volunteer of Christian Community Action for many years and had a passion for God, his family and helping people. He especially enjoyed attended mens bible studies, and Promise Keepers. Leo was survived by his wife, Loretta McClain, and the mother of his daughters, Lacresha Hawkins, his children, Tonya and Smokey Oliver, Rhonda and Ricky Sage, Aundrea and Grant Lockey, and Kevin Hand. His beloved grandchildren, Natalie and Jeramy Anthony, Colby Sage, Chase and Hannah Sage, Lance and Kaitlyn Oliver, Raegan Oliver and Art Cervantes, Hayden Mauthe and Evee Lockey. Great grandchildren, Brecken Sage, Logan Oliver, Paisley Mink and Tucker Oliver. He is also survived by his canine best buddy, Molly. Leo was preceded in death by his precious great grandson, Gannon Lane Oliver. arrangements will be held at 10:30 AM on 6, 2017 at Trinity Bible Church, 400 W. Campbell Road, Richardson, Texas 75080.
