Obituary: Jeremy "Duey" Adam Mayhall, 24, passed away , 15th, 2012, in Abilene, Texas. Duey was born on 30th, 1987 to his loving mother, Rebecca Wood. He had an older brother by six years, Robby Mayhall, for whom he looked up to greatly as a child. At the age of five, Duey was involved in a bicycle/car accident in which the doctors said he would never recover and be able to live his life. But little did they know, this was the star of Duey beginning a life in which he was gonna touch and inspire so many people. From that day of the accident on 21st, 1993, Duey went on to live an amazingly and fulfilling 19 years and 25 days. During this time, Duey learned to walk by himself; also said "Momma", "Bubba", and "Bye-Bye". He smiled when he was happy and frowned when he was sad. "Doctors, forgive them, for they did not know what they say!" Anyone and everyone who every met Duey immediately became attached to him. He had a charisma and positive karma about him that could not be ignored by anyone. Duey was a fighter and he fought to be here with his family for as long as he could and for that we thank him greatly. Although he is gone in physical form, Duey will live on in all the memories he gave everyone he touched. "We loved and will continue to love you, Duey, each and every moment that we remain here on this earth." |

Obituary: Edna Kathleen "Katy" Mayhall, 88, of Amarillo died , Feb. 2, 2011. Mrs. Mayhall was born May 15, 1922, in Lone Oak to Wayne and Mattie Slemmons. She was raised in Midland, and graduated from Meadow High School. She married J.W. Mayhall on 18, 1954. were blessed with their only child, James F. "Jim" Mayhall, the following year. Mr. and Mrs. Mayhall enjoyed being charter members of the Santa Fe Federal Credit Union and attended almost every Annual Banquet. Married to a longtime railroader allowed Katy the privilege of becoming an active member of the Wild Rose Lodge No. 312, the ladies auxiliary of the UTU. She enjoyed the fellowship of her many railroad friends at the monthly dinners. Katy also was a longtime member of Temple Baptist Church. She served on the Hospitality Committee and helped with childrens school for many years. She set the Christian example in her home and for all who knew her by her selfless acts of kindness. Her uncanny ability to know when someone needed a helping hand, whether it was food to be cooked, a phone call to be made, a hug to be given, was truly a God-given gift. Katys most instrumental act of selflessness was in helping her son, Jim, raise his two older children, J.E. and Kathy. It is "Grannys" influence that set the foundation for their lives. will be forever grateful. The family would like to thank the staff at BSA Hospice for the compassionate and loving care they gave to our beloved "Mother," "Granny," "Aunt Nini," "Gigi" and "Miss Katy." Katy was greeted in heaven by her parents; her husband; her great-granddaughter, Bridget Karen Konetsco; and her dear friend, Elizabeth Cable. Survivors include a son, Jim Mayhall and his wife Chrissy of Amarillo; a grandson, J.E. Mayhall of Amarillo; two granddaughters, Kathy Konetsco and husband Jeremy, and Rebecca Mayhall, all of Amarillo; a very special great-grandson, Logan Konetsco of Amarillo; four special nieces, Shelia Grice of Golden, Colo., Sherry Watson and husband Randy of McKinney, Sharron Slemmons of Spring, and Billie Freeman of Florida; a special nephew, Teddy Harrison of Amarillo; two special great-nieces, Carol Guritz and husband Elmer of Flower Mound, and Jean Ryan of Mineral Wells; a special great-nephew, Jimmy Inglis and wife Paula of Rockwall; her precious cat and companion, Scratch; and many other family members, as well as, countless friends. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105; or Temple Baptist Church, 3208 S. Van Buren St., Amarillo, TX 79109. The family will be at 2500 S. Obituary: William E. Mayfield, most beloved husband, father, and friend went home to be with our Lord 12 at the age of 75 after very courageously battling a long illness. He is survived by the true love of his life, his wife Linda of 22 years, sons Mike, Mitch, and Matt Mayfield of Newport, WA, son Marc Mayfield of San Diego, CA, daughter Teri Feniello of Newport, WA, and his very beloved mother-in-law, Dorthie Hinson, of Dallas. He is also survived by his ex-wife, Rheta, 15 grandchildren, 3 great grandkids, and his constant companion and best little Âfur-buddy, Lord Spencer. Bill was born 28, 1932 in Southgate, CA to Orren and Flossie Mayfield. Although they moved with Bill and his brother ÂBrub to Flint, Michigan when Bill was a baby, they returned to southern California when he was 12, where he began what became a remarkable life. These early years in Michigan formed a friendship with cousins Dave and Al Mayfield which, in later years, proved to be the basis for a most cherished friendship. Bill bought his first airplane and learned to fly at the young age of 16, soloing after just 9 hours. At 17, he and a buddy used a fake ID and joined the Air National Guard which became the Air Force, where he learned to fly F-80Âs. His passion of flying continued throughout his life Â- just recently flying co-pilot with a friend, Richard, on a beautiful, sunny afternoon, on what would be his last flight. At 18, Bill played semi-pro baseball on the Argonaughts Â- the farm team for what became the Los Angeles Angels. He gave this up when he re-entered the service in the Army, where he finished his training as an X-ray technician here at Fort Sam Houston. He credits the service with setting him on his lifelong career path. Bill was a graduate of UCLA and StanfordÂs prestigious ÂPresidents . He was a very active member of the Executive Forum, served on numerous boards of directors, including that of Ken Blanchard author of the One Minute Manager series. Bill ultimately ended his professional career as Vice-Chairman of Merry X-Ray Chemical Corp Â- a company that, under his management, grew from one small office to the largest independently owned X-Ray company in the world. Bill was widely recognized as one of the most respected and accomplished businessmen in his field Â- as will be recognized in a memorial tribute by Bob Pryor, Executive Director of Agfa . Bill and Linda moved to the Dominion in San Antonio 13 years ago at his semi-retirement. A Californian at heart, Bill always said it was the tremendous friendships and love of their neighbors that made the Dominion home. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Orren and Flossie, his brother ÂBrub, a grandson Saxon, his friend and father-in-law Ray, and his much beloved Shetland sheepdog, Sir Winston who was the pet therapy dog for the pediatric oncology unit at Methodist ChildrenÂs Hospital. In lieu of flowers, Bill requested that contributions be made to the SIR WINSTON MEMORIAL FUND. Donations can be sent to South Texas Veterinary Specialists, 503 E. Sonterra Blvd., Suite #102, San Antonio, TX 78258. Please mark payments ÂSir Winston Memorial Fund. For more information, call 210 930-8383. This fund aids in emergency treatment of animals of elderly people who might otherwise go through the heartbreak of losing their best friend or special Âfur-child. Established after Linda and Bill lost Sir Winston to cancer, this fund has brought joy to many hearts. It was a real passion of BillÂs and will be a most fitting memorial to this most loved and incredible man. |

Obituary: Viva Louise Mayfield, 88, passed away , 31, 2016 in Odessa, Texas. She was born 15, 1927 to Matt and Lillian Hellums in Anson, Texas. She came to Odessa in 1962 from Snyder, Texas. She married William Marvin Mayfield Sr. 23, 1945. She was the Director and Assistant Director of the Snyder Boys Club and was a World Class 42 Player. Most importantly, she was a dearly-loved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Matt and Lillian Hellums, daughter, Sandra K. Mayfield Biggs, brother, James Hellums, father and mother-in-law, Alford and Connie Mayfield. She is survived by her loving husband of over 70 years William Marvin Mayfield Sr. of Odessa, a son, William Marvin Mayfield Jr. of Odessa, three grandchildren Shana Longley and husband John, Sunnye Forrest and husband Jeff and Amber Cotten and husband Lee, daughter in law, Mary Mayfield and her sister Sonja Emmrick and daughter in law Lisa Bolin. service will be , 3, 2016 at 10am at Frank W. Wilson Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Interment will be at the Fairmount in San Angelo, Texas.
