Obituary: 5, 1969, the world was blessed with a ray of sunshine. Bobbi Kingrey Massingill was a beautiful daughter, a loving wife, and she loved her step children as if they were her own. She always greeted friends and family with a bright smile, giggles and twinkling blue eyes. To meet Bobbi was to love her. Obituary: Billy G. Massingill, 88, of Terrell, passed away peacefully on , 24, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born 9, 1926 in Hamilton where he had fond memories of the country life. He moved to Dallas and married the love of his life, Elwanda Livingston, in 1951. Bill and Wanda raised their family in Dallas where he was plant manager at Rath Packing . In 1982 they moved to the farm and made Terrell their home where they have enjoyed their life together. He served in the Army during WWII and was awarded a Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal, and the Combat Infantryman Badge. A generous man, Bill always made sure that those he knew, both family and friends, were taken care of. He was a devoted husband, loving father and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family and friends. He was a 32nd degree Mason and served as an elder at Rockwall and Brin Church of Christ where he was a longtime member. His reputation of serving was well known among his fellow members. A true gentleman in every sense of the word, Bill will be missed and his legacy will continue to be cherished by his family. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac Nathan and Eula Massingill and sister, Nora Lee Hair. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Wanda Massingill of Terrell; children: Rick Massingill and wife, Sandi, of Birmingham, AL; Darlene Edmiston and husband, William, of Eldorado, TX; Chris St. John and wife, Minnie of Mission, TX; grandchildren: Haley, Ben and wife, Kelly, Frank, Alex, Jake, Matt and Kylie; great grandchild, Mason; brother, Royce Massingill and wife, Jean, of Bracketville, TX; brother-in-law, Duane Livingston and wife, Gene, of Texarkana as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. service will be at 11:00am, , Aug. 27, 2014 at Rockwall and Brin Church of Christ in Terrell. Interment will follow at 2:15pm at D/FW National with military honors. The family will receive friends 6-8pm, , Aug. 26, at Anderson-Clayton Bros. . In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials be made to the Terrell Share , 103 Jones St., Terrell, TX, 75160. |
