Obituary: Lewis F. Massengale went to be with our Lord on 26, 2005, at the age of 78 years old. He was born on 26, 1926, to Lee Roy and Minnie Lou Massengale. He was a beloved brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Lewis was a proud veteran of World War II, a member of Davy Crockett Masonic Lodge #1225, and a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies and the Alzafar Shrine in San Antonio, TX. Sheppard-Hammer, which he co-founded in 1958, became Massengale Armature Works in 1965, which he owned and operated with three of his sons. He took great pride in personally managing the family business until his recent illness and will be remembered by many for the first-class quality of work that the company has produced for 47 years. In addition to his career and family, Lewis had a life-long interest in automobiles that ranged from stock-car racing in the 1950Âs to building, driving, and showing classic cars. He collected and restored a number of classic cars throughout his life, and he was a joint member of the San Antonio Gear Grinders and the San Antonio Rodders where he was a frequent participant in car shows and events. He also loved fishing at the Texas coast and hunting as well. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Roy and Minnie Lou Massengale; his brother, Lee Roy Massengale, Jr.; his sister, Barbara Jerkins; and his grandsons, James and Aubrey Massengale. He is survived by Jo Ann Massengale; his sons and their wives, Michael and Rosa Massengale, Terry and Joyce Massengale, Bert and Rene Massengale, and John Massengale and Robin Chapman; his grandchildren and spouses, Monica and Bryan Crowley, Denise Massengale, Kyle Massengale, Emily Massengale, Trenton Massengale, and Beverly Knorr; and his great-grandchildren, Morgan Crowley and Shelby Crowley. He is also survived by his brothers and their spouses, Wilburn Red Massengale, Wayne and Bobbye Massengale, James and Jean Ann Massengale; and his sister and spouse, Charles and Alice Shaw; in addition, Betty Klein, Ronnie Massengale, Larry Massengale, Harry Massengale, Norman Massengale, Carol Massengale, Doris Duran, and numerous nieces and nephews. |

She had been a resident of Arlington Residence and Rehabilitation for some time. : Private services were held at the familys convenience and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Obituary: GEORGIA 'SUE' BRYANT MASSENGALE, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and niece of Paul 'Bear' Bryant, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on 31, 2014. She was born in the New Edinburgh, Arkansas community of Smith Chapel on 17, 1929, living in the same family home until graduating from New Edinburgh High School in 1947. Enrolling at Little Rock Draughn School of Business at 17 years old, she completed a secretarial course, and with a $100 loan from her father, Jack, she began her journey to Houston, Texas, where she spent the next 66 years. Humble Oil became her first employer. winning First Place at the Humble Oil Beauty Pageant contest, she met her loving husband, James (Jimmy) L. Massengale II at the 'after' party. Jimmy was a well-respected, practicing attorney at law within the Houston-Galveston area. Jimmy and Sue resided in the Bay area during their married life from the "stilt" homes in Kemah to the "ranch" house in Webster and finally on the 'waterfront' in Nassau Bay. Affectionately known by her grandchildren as "Momma Sue," she dedicated her life to being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Sue retired after a 30-year career as a court reporter with the Harris 177th Criminal District Court. Her life as a Christian began at Smith Chapel Church of God, Kingsland, Arkansas. Sue has faithfully attended University Baptist Church in Clear Lake City for many years. Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Jack H. Bryant and Mamie Best Bryant; brother, James B. Bryant; widowed in 1990 by James L. Massengale II and then by her second husband, Talmadge Parker, in 1995. She is survived by her sisters, Shirley Bryant Ham and Darlene Bryant Hulka and brothers-in-law John Ham and Steve Hulka; daughters, Jennifer 'Ginger' Gordon and husband Alan; Manice Le and husband Jack; Tamra Parks and husband Mark; and son, Lyndon Massengale and wife Rosemary; Grandchildren Ashley, Alex and husband Jason, Whitney and husband Brock, Jerrett and wife Rachel, Hannah, Tyler and James; great grandchildren Ashtin, Hallie, Corrie, and Chett, along with many other family members and friends. The family will accept visitors from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. , 3, 2014 at Forest Park East . A celebration of Sues life will take place , 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at University Baptist Church, 16106 Middlebrook Dr., Houston, Texas followed by the interment in Forest Park East , 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas. Obituary: BOBBYE SUE MASSENGALE 8/11/28 - 1/14/16 Bobbye was born in the small Texas town of Donie (Freestone ). She was delivered by her grandfather, Dr. r Bond, who helped establish the town. Bobbyes father was a teacher and coach, who passed a love of learning and reading to his daughter. Bobbye married Wayne Massengale in 1952 and moved to San Antonio where she lived the remainder of her life. She enjoyed her job of over 30 years as secretary to the Circulation Department Manager at the San Antonio Light newspaper. She and Wayne retired to the Hill Country in 1968. She is preceded in death by her parents, r Bond and Lucille Watson; husband, Wayne; brothers, r (Sonny) Bond and Jerry Bond. She is survived by her daughter, Toni Sue Weber; granddaughter, Brandi Wyman; and great-grandson, Ogden Wyman; along with numerous nieces and nephews, whom she greatly enjoyed. She died at Arden Park Assisted Living after a long battle with Alzheimers. Many thanks to everyone at the facility and Grace Hospice for their loving and outstanding care. According to her wishes, she will be cremated and no services will follow. |
