Obituary: Mrs. Valentina Martinez, age 87. 0f Odessa and formerly of Loraine, died , 21, 2015, in an Odessa hospital. Graveside service will be at 2 PM , 24, 2015, in the Loraine under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale . Mrs. Martinez was born 4, 1927 in Mexico. She married Donato Martinez in Colorado City. He preceded her in death on 17, 1972. She was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic Church. She is survived two daughters: Dolores Pando and Rachal Tarin, both of Odessa; four sons: Nieves Martinez of Eagle Pass, Frankie Martinez of Loraine, Donato Martinez, Jr of Giddings and Carlos Martinez of Odessa; 40 grandchildren and 59 great grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by six children; Ilaria Martinez, San Juana Ibarra, Lorenza Martinez, Pedro Martinez, Ester Luevanos and Joe Martinez. Obituary: Trinidad G. Martinez, age 99, passed away 17, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on 24, 1917 in Mercedes, Texas to Francisco and Juanita Martinez. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran, serving his country proudly. He was a prisoner of war in the Pacific Theater of operations from 1942 to 1945. He received the Prisoner of War Medal, Bronze Star Medal, WW II Victory Medal, Philippine Republic-Presidential Unit Citation and the Philippine Independence Ribbon. Trinidad worked for many years for the city of Brownsville, Texas, serving in different positions. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first and second wife, Celia Olvera Martinez and Maria Concepcion Martinez, his children, John and Mario Martinez, and siblings, Maria Martinez, Jose Martinez, Matilde Martinez, Lupe Martinez, Manuel Martinez, Pancho Martinez and Antonio Martinez; also deceased great-grandchildren, Trinity Celia Martinez and Dillan Rey Martinez. He is survived by his children, Maria R. Dorado and husband, Sam, Maria Irma Gonzalez, Jesse Angulo and wife Abby, Trinidad Martinez Jr. and wife Julie and Leticia Gallegos and husband Israel; brother, Jesus Martinez; daughters-in-law, Rose Martinez and Amelia Martinez; 23 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest , 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, Texas 78238 of , 25, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Obituary: Trinidad Martinez was born on May 30, 1931 in Calvert, TX. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his two daughters, Michelle and Veronica on 17, 2017 in Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, Marcelino Martinez; his mother Josefa (Martinez) Arriaga; his stepfather Alejandro Arriaga; his brothers Jose (Joe) Martinez and Timoteo (Tim) Martinez; his sister Micaela (Martinez) Peña; and his beloved spouse, Ophelia (Gomez) Martinez and three children, Marcella, Melinda, and Mark, angels at birth. Trini or Jay, as he was known by many, proudly served in the US Marine Corp and rose to the rank of Sargent. He fought bravely in the Korean Conflict as a part of the 7th Marine Division. During his years of service he trained at Camp Pendelton (San Diego, CA; Platoon 414; 1952) and at Camp Lejeune (Jacksonville, NC). He returned to Houston working first as a janitor at the University of Houston and then as a mechanic for the R.B. Everett Co. for many years before etiring as a Crew Manager for the City of Houston. Trinidad was an active member of St. Alphonsus Church, where he and Ophelia volunteered many years with the community. He was a tough Marine, fighting many battles - on the field and with his health. He was a proud father, grandfather, uncle, godfather, and friend. He will be missed by us all. He is survived by his grandchildren, Pablo Elias and Diego Nicolas Acosta; his two daughters, Michelle and Veronica (Acosta); his son-in-law, Francisco Alfonso Acosta; his brothers, Johnny and Alejandro (Alex); his sisters Patsy and Angie; and many nieces and nephews. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. The family will be receiving guests at Forest Park Lawndale and , 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023 at 5pm on , 20, 2017. A rosary prayer service will be begin at 6pm on . A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 9217 E Avenue L, Houston, Texas 77012, at 10 am on , 21, 2017. Procession and burial with full military honors will follow at Forest Park Lawndale . A reception will follow the burial at St. Alphonsus Church Hall. |

Obituary: Tony Jesus Martinez, 64, of Watauga died , Sept. 7, 2011, at South Padre Island, while saving his wife. : 3 p.m. at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church in Keller, Rev. Samuel Boman officiating. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. at Shannon Rufe Snow Chapel. Tony was born May 3, 1947, in North Platte, Neb. He was the eldest child of Jesse and Babe Martinez. He attended college at the University of Nebraska for three years where he played in the marching band, participating in two Orange Bowl games. Tony was a musician during his early years living in Nebraska. moving to Texas in the late 70s, he began working in the construction industry. He spent the next 30 years as a self-employed general remodeling contractor. Tony loved the outdoors, especially water sports. He was a passionate musician and played the bass, saxophone and piano. Tony was a devoted fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team. Tony was elected precinct chairman for the Republican Party for Precinct 3194 and served for 26 years. Tony was a strong Christian and devoted husband and loving father. He was a kind and generous man who was always willing to help those in need. Tonys family would like to thank the Hartigan family, the Taylor family, the Day family, Suzannes HUD co-workers, and all others who have offered support.
