Obituary: "Heaven needed a Brilliant trumpet player" Rest in peace and hurt no more. Alfred T. Martinez crossed over and now rest in his father's arms on , 18, 2016. Born on 30, 1932 to Amado and Jacinta Martinez. Graduated from Milby in 1952, in which he participated in track, boxing and of course, playing trumpet in the band, thanks to his big sister, who bought him his first, when he was a small boy. He started playing in bands, traveling when he was fifteen years old. Immediately after graduating, he enlisted in the United States Navy, in which he continued to play his trumpet. On his first leave, he came home in and married the love of his life, Marlene. On 16, 1956, they welcomed their first and only son, Ronnie, and was later joined by their only daughter, Cindi. shared unconditional love, everyday of their lives. Al, Little Beaver, brother, dad, uncle, grandpa, cousin, GG-Pa loved his family more than anything in the world. Obstacles were never an issue for Al. The saying, "Never put off tomorrow, what you can do today," is how he lived everyday of his life. Al is survived by his wonderful loving wife, Norma Marlene; his children, Ronnie (Delores), and Cindi (A.C.); Sister, Violet; grandchildren, Summer(Larry), Michael, Andrew(Amanda), and Richard; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Alyssa, Jordan, Riley, Audrey, Kaman, and Destiny; nieces, Tracey and Marlene; nephews, Tommy, Randy, and Robert; many step-grandchildren; and many step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, whom he love all with all of his Huge Heart. He graduated from Gonzales High School Class of 1966 and served in the Texas Army National Guard for 6 years and spent many years in the Commercial Printing Industry. Alfredo really enjoyed his fishing days and spending quality time with his family. Alfredo is preceded in death by his loving wife, Paula M. Martinez. He is survived by his children, Graciela Martinez, Patricia Martinez Lemons (Clark) and Alfredo Fidencio Martinez; grandchildren, Anthony and Bianca Alvarado, Caitlin Rice, Brian and Dustin Lemons and Dominic and Xavier Martinez; great-grandchildren, Leroy Cruz and Madilyn and Emma Rice. Alfred was an outdoor enthusiast. Among the things he loved were hunting, fishing, boating, golf, his motorcycle, football and baseball. His extensive travels took him to Australia, China, the Philippines, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Egypt, Mexico and Brazil. The things most people remember about Alfred was his wit, his charm, his personality, his charisma, his smile and most of all his love for life. His love and kindness was felt around the globe while leaving his mark everywhere he went. He always spoke highly of the people he would meet and his personality always won him the friendships he made around the world. Words cannot express the gratitude the family has for the loving and kind friends that have provided the love and support during his time abroad.
