Obituary: A memorial service for Keith Martin, 66, of Killeen will be 1:00pm 28, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Killeen. He was born 12, 1948 in Temple and passed away 24, 2015 in Killeen. Keith attended KISD schools, graduating in 1967 from Killeen High School. He graduated from UMHB with undergraduate in 1973 and from Tarleton in 1982 with his Masters Degree. He was an active member of First Baptist Church and the adult 6 School Class, a member of Killeen Masonic Lodge and the Killeen Chapter and Council. Keith taught elementary physical education in Killeen ISD for 31 years. Upon retirement in 2004 he worked another 10 years for the district as a crossing guard. Survivors include daughter, Hope and son-in-law Andrew McCracken of Belton, granddaughter Kaitlyn McCracken, sister, Beth Matkin and husband Royce of Killeen, TX, sister-in-law Linda Ware of Boyd, TX, mother and father -in-law Matt and Dean Ware of Hico, TX and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, R Keith Martin and Dorothy Lynn (Helms) Martin and wife of 31 years Bessie Dianne Martin. The family will receive visitor from 5:30-6:30 27, 2015 at the Church. |

Davis and Mozelle Davis Spell, now deceased. Kathy is survived by her husband of 42 years, Neal Martin; her children, Steve Martin and wife Renee, Paul Martin and wife Deanna, Mitchell Martin and wife Cherie, Julie Mucha and husband Terry, Michael Martin, and Neal Martin, Jr.; grandchildren, Dustin, Rachelle, Jordon, Megan, Emily, Deuce, Sable, Devin, Olivia, Julia, Averie, Kendall, Jamie, Shane, and Kelsey; great-grandson, Orion Elias; sisters, Sandy Watson and husband Ray, and Peggy Jones; and many nieces and nephews. Obituary: Karen Alene Martin (Broussard) Karen achieved her dream of being with Jesus at 6:14pm on 4/23/2017 after a heroic clash with cancer. Born on 01, 1967 to Price Glenn and Peggy (Simon) Martin, Karens love of Jesus opened countless opportunities for her uncompromising spirit to disburse love, faith, and hope to others. Her family and friends have been astonished by the stories and words of love for Karen shared by hundreds of people deeply touched by the spirit of Karen in her lifetime. One of four children, Karen is survived by her Husband Travis Broussard, Parents, twin sister Penny Benbow, Sister Lisa Barlow, & Brother Lynn Martin. Her family extends its deep gratitude to her husband Travis for his courageous devotion to Karen during her battle with cancer. Karen enjoyed running track, spending time with family and friends, reading, listening to Christian music, being close to the ocean, loving Gods creatures (particularly dogs!), and being present with her husband. Karen finished her high school education at O. Perry Walker in New Orleans and went on to obtain an Undergraduate degree in Education from the University of South Alabama and a Masters degree in Pastoral Studies from St. Thomas University. Karen had a long, successful career with Exxon/Mobile as a Project Procurement Advisor at the time of passing. Karen frequently spoke with admiration of her colleagues, leadership, and friends that she worked with at Exxon. The entire family would like to recognize Exxon/Mobile for providing her with opportunities for professional growth and for their support during the challenging times. Consistent with the way Karen lived, a joyous celebration of her life will take place at 3:00pm on 28, 2017, at Forest Park , 18000 I-45 South, The Woodlands, TX, with her nephew, Chad Barlow, officiating. A reception with the family will follow the service in the event room adjacent to the Chapel. Karen requested that you feel free to come to the service in colorful clothing, ready to have fun and celebrate (suits and formal attire OPTIONAL)! Karen suggested that in Lieu of Flowers or donations, those interested, donate their time & talents to doing something kind for others. Karens husband, Travis, also advised that if memorial donations are desired, that they could be sent to The Canopy at thewoodlandscanopy.org, which is devoted to the support of cancer patients & their families & is associated with Karens medical team, who served her so faithfully & with much compassion. |
