Obituary: We little knew that morning that God would call your name. In life we loved you dearly; in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone, for part of us went with you. The day God called you home, you left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide, and though we cannot see you, you are always by our side. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God call us one by one, the chain will link again. Born and raised in El Paso, TX, she attended and graduated Coronado High School. She was blessed with 16 year tenure at Dish Network with much dedication as a payroll supervisor. Providing quality customer service care each time every time was naturally ingrained. Respect and dignity were personal philosophy measures up to higher standards and ideals she lived up to in her every day awakening. She was a supporter of the Rio Grande Cancer Foundation, Dianas I Will Live Foundation, and was a member of the Sierra Providence Cancer Support Group. She found great pleasure betting on live horse racing, playing loteria on gatherings, and taking evening walks. She also loved traveling to include European vacations and Caribbean cruises, road trips to Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Nevada, New Mexico, and New Jersey. She enjoyed tailgating for the UTEP miner games and found joy watching the NFL during football season and the NBA during the basketball playoff season every year while having family cookouts. She was most comfortable watching her favorite shows such as Law and Order: SVU, Sex and the City, and Bravo Housewives, her favorite movies include Grease and Night Fever. On , May 2, 2017, Rosie Marquez, a daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother passed away at the tender age of 49. Her ovarian cancer journey began 5 years ago and fought like no one we will ever know. As her family and loved ones are heartbroken to see her depart earth we all know she won the battle either way. Rosie was warm, kind, giving, loving, charming, and charismatic and not only touched and warmed our familys hearts and souls but everyone she encountered. She will always be remembered by her husband and best-friend in life Eddie DeVilla, their lovely daughter Ashley Marquez Toribio, her dedicated parents, Raul and Catalina Marquez, and her sisters, Maria Magdalena Marquez, Catalina Macklin, Carmen Garcia, Lupe Jasso, and by her two tenacious grandchildren, Maximus and Marcellus Toribio. She married Manuel Marquez in 1948 in Clovis, NM; they then made their home in Montoya, NM until their move to Lubbock in 1961. Rosie was a loving wife, mother, and devoted grandmother. She was a faithful member of Christ the King Cathedral Catholic Church.
