Obituary: Jean Tulloss Marmion, of San Antonio, TX died on 20, 2015. She was 95 years old. Jean was born on 12, 1919 in Amarillo, TX to Samuel Carnes and Mary Peebles Tulloss. Jean moved with her family to San Antonio in the late 1920s. She attended Alamo Heights High School. She graduated from The University of Texas where she was a Bluebonnet Belle and a member of Zeta Tau Alpha. She was married in of 1941 to J. Richard Marmion, Jr. and spoke fondly of their Acapulco honeymoon and subsequent trips to Mexico with their children. moved to Brazoria and lived there until 1958. returned to San Antonio to raise their family and to be part of the numerous cultural and educational opportunities the city offered. Jean was a Christian who valued hard work, frugality and generosity. She was wild about gardening, and a recent joy for her was The Traveling Dirt Club, a group she founded with best friend Julie Wilkinson. She was famous for her prolific lime tree and amazing margaritas. She was extremely fond of her Glendalough Court neighbors and enjoyed hosting them and other friends and family at her home there. She loved walking down her street with her daughter Anns dog, Kiwi. She was a life long sportswoman; she liked to water ski, swim, and bird hunt. In the last two years, she especially relished being on her son Jims boat, Lady Hawk. She will be dearly missed and remembered for her philanthropy and friendship. Jean is survived by her three children, Sue Marmion of San Antonio and Rockport, TX, Ann Marmion of Boerne, TX and Jim Marmion and partner Heidi Hale of Asherton, TX; sister Ruth Tulloss Childers of Dallas, TX; nephew Dr. Scoot Childers and wife Dottie of Loveland, CO; niece Jeanie C. Beasley of Dallas, TX; granddaughter Amy Estes-Scroggins and husband Tobin Scroggins of Austin, TX, granddaughter Sarah Marmion Armendariz and husband Paul Armendariz of San Diego, CA; grandson Kes Marmion of Rockport, TX; great-grandchildren Stella and Mabel Scroggins; and Santiago, Pablo and Cayo Armendariz; great-niece Liza Raynor, great-nephews Will and Scott Beasley; and Chip, Richard and Scott Childers. Jean was preceded in death by her husband J. Richard Marmion, Jr. of San Antonio, TX; her granddaughter Kate Marmion of Uvalde, TX; her brother-in-law Dr. M.A. Childers, Jr. of San Antonio, TX and her nephew Keith T. Childers of Oklahoma City, OK. A memorial service will be held at Porter Loring on McCullough, , 28 at 3:00 p.m. Dr. Raymond Judd will officiate. A reception will follow. Allida and Leo were known for their hospitality and fabulous dinners for family and friends. Leos ravioli was legendary! Prior to their move to San Antonio in 1999, they were very active in Christ United Methodist Church of Memphis, TN, where Leo taught childrens School. Leo was known for his sense of humor and his gift of making people laugh. His vivacious personality and natural warmth drew everyone to him. He was a loving man who touched all of our hearts and left us with many wonderful memories of fun times, funny sayings and his huge smile. She was preceded in death by her son, Norman Covington, and her three brothers, , Howell, and George Thomason. She leaves her dear husband Leo; daughter Tina Williams; son Terry Marmino; and grandchildren, Jordan and Lauren Williams, Timmy Marmino, Hank Hess and Casey Covington. She was the beloved aunt of Nancy McDow, Pat Hargrave, Bob, and George Thomason, Jr., and 11 grand nieces and nephews, with many of the girls in the family named in her honor. Allida will be remembered for her warmth, her intelligence and wit, and her sincere desire to make the best of all situations and see the best in all people. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, and loved gardening, flower arranging, cooking, and reading. Obituary: Linda Sue Nolley Marlowe, aged 68, passed away 20, 2015 in Houston, Texas, after a courageous struggle with Alzheimers disease. Linda, or Sue, as she was commonly called during her youth, was born 1, 1947 in Natchitoches, Louisiana, the daughter of Joseph Benjamin Nolley and Helen Blue Nolley She was a graduate of Natchitoches Central High School and Northwestern State University, from which she also earned a Masters Degree in Education. She taught middle and high school children for more than 30 years in Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas before retiring in 2006. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, James C Ted Marlowe of Houston, Texas. Her son Jeff, wife Jennifer, and grandchildren Caiden, Eli, and Sebastian Marlowe, of Austin, Texas; three brothers, Benny and wife Mary Margaret Nolley and Gary and wife Miranda Nolley, of Natchitoches, Louisiana, and Kenneth and wife Rachel Nolley of Diana, Texas. Special thanks go to Autumn Grove Cottage, Houston, and special caregiver Chi Chi who assisted her for many months. are truly a gift.
