Obituary: Samuel Joseph Marino, 85, passed away 21, 2016 at Kindred Hospital in Sugar Land, Texas. He was born 29, 1930 and raised in Houston, Texas by his parents, Joseph E. Marino and Mary Mitchell, and stepmother Josephine Dimiceli. Sam married Peggy Griffin on 21, 1959 at Annunciation Catholic Church. Sam met Peggy on a blind date and she became the love of his life. had a beautiful 55 years together. Sam lived in Houston, Texas at 307 Mitchell Road since 1959. In his early years, he went to school at Annunciation, then went to St. Thomas High School and went to college at University of Houston. Sam served in the Air Force during the Korean War. When he had a family, he was employed at Handi Ad Printing . When he retired, he and his business partners started up Ad-Vanced Web Printing. Anyone who knew Sam would know how kind, calm and loving he was. He was always very generous and put others first. He was a very loving and caring husband and father. Sam had a very good life. When he and Peggy were dating, he raced boats. were always on the water. He also loved to fish, just like his dad. He and his dad, Joe and brother, Paul would fish off the Galveston Pier and he would take his family out fishing in their boat when his three daughters were growing up. He loved to build things all his life. He started as a teen, putting a lawn mower motor on his bicycle, from there he built mini bikes, but he was most proud of the car he built. Sam grew in faith in the Catholic church. He was an altar boy at Annunciation Catholic Church through to adulthood and was a driver for the parish priests. Sam Marino is survived by his daughters and son-in-laws: Diane Marino, Sheri and Michael Holik, and Maryellen and Eddie Bonner; his grandchildren: Ryan Holik, Grace Holik, Ashley Bonner, Paige Holik and Christopher Bonner; by his brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Barbara Marino; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Griffin Marino on 11, 2014. |

Obituary: Pete Marino, 80, was born into everlasting life on 13, 2010 at his home in Bryan surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. 16, 2010 at Memorial Chapel in Bryan with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. 17 at St. Anthonys Catholic Church in Bryan with Reverend Patrick Ebner officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary in Bryan. Pete was born 21, 1930 in Mumford, Texas to Steve and Laura Morello Marino. He moved to Bryan in 1943. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and was a former member of the VFW Brazos Post 4692. Pete was a longtime member of St. Anthonys Catholic Church and was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Msgr. Gleissner Council 1834 of Bryan. He was an Extruder Operator for the International Shoe Factory in Bryan, where he retired after 22 years of service. Pete loved to fish and deer hunt, but most of all, he loved his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Steve Pete Marino in 1995; stepmother Josie Emola Marino; and brothers Steve Marion, Jr., Frank Marino, Louis Marino, Sam Marino, and John Marino. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marie Licce Marino of Bryan; daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and Floyd Okonski of Station; Teresa and Steve Everts of Galveston; and Jo Louise and Robert Pike of Longview, Texas; eight grandchildren, Tony Okonski, Nathan Okonski, Michelle Kupper and her husband Casey, D.J. Mazurkiewicz, Katrina Marino, Robert Muse, Gentry Garcia, son of Steven Pete Marino, and Brianna Patranella and her husband Kevin; and six great-gandchildren, Stephanie Marino, Gavin Muse, Emma and Gray Kupper, Kaylyn and Kylee Patranella. Memorials may be made to the St. Anthonys Catholic Church Building Fund. |
