Obituary: Mary Anthem Marberry passed away May 6, 2015. She was born in Streetman, Texas on 15, 1924 to Julius and Laura Baker. Mary grew up in Streetman, Texas and attended school in Fairfield. Texas. While growing up she helped raise her younger brother who she called son and her younger sister who she called sister. She also would cook and do house chores while the adults worked in the cotton fields. high school she took a job working with the government. She met the love of her life Fred when they were set up on a blind date. were married 6, 1946. Shortly after they moved to Mexia, Texas, and when her first child was born she left her job to be a stay at home mother and housewife. of 1969 her family settled down in Grand Prairie, Texas. Mary was an excellent seamstress and cook. She could make casual clothing, prom dresses and much more without a pattern, and made the best fried chicken, potato salad and caramel pie from scratch. She never met a stranger and loved to laugh. She had a very special bond with her rescue Chihuahua Stinky. Mary enjoyed taking care of others; she would make popcorn balls for all the neighborhood children at Halloween. She wanted everyone to feel good. Marys passion was her family. A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother she was very involved in her childrens school PTA. She was also very involved with the youth group at the local church in Big Spring, Texas. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, siblings Marion Eugene Baker and Elna Ruth Watkins. Obituary: Fred Hughlon Marberry passed away 12, 2016. He was born in Streetman, Texas on 1, 1924 to Jefferson Luther and Mary Angelina Rose Marberry. Fred grew up in Kirvin, Texas, where he also attended school. He was the youngest of five. He played basketball in high school, but he loved all sports. He worked in the cotton fields even as a child with all the adults. high school he went into the military. He served in the Air Force as a mechanic on the B26 planes, and he left the military in 1945. He met the love of his life, Mary Anthem Baker, when they were set up on a blind date. were married 6, 1946. Shortly after they married, they moved to Mexia, Texas. He attended schools in Garland and Arlington Texas where he earned a number of certifications at BPO school (Buick, Pontiac, & Oldsmobile), when a few years later the Cadillac model was added. He primarily worked for Buick and Cadillac dealerships in Texas. of 1969 his family settled down in Grand Prairie, Texas. He worked at Lone Star Cadillac as a Service Writer. He had a very special bond with a rescue Chihuahua Stinky. He was asked by someone if he wanted this dog, abused by young children; Hugh the middle child was with him at the time. He asked his son if he would take care of it, and the rest was history! Freds passion was his family. He was a wonderful spouse, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was very involved with his children. He served as an Assistant Coach and Coach for various baseball teams in Big Spring, Texas. He assisted his wife with the youth group at their local church. Fred is preceded in death by his wife, parents, and siblings, Nova Marberry, Neva Marberry-Coleman, Jeffard Marberry, and Fagan Marberry. He is survived by his children Linda Herpin and her husband Charles W., Marion Hughlon Marberry and his wife Cathy B., Glenda Howard and her husband Emmett Joseph; grandchildren Nicole Henderson and her husband Coy, Angela Kelley and her husband Jeff, Christy Brownlee and her husband Brian, Caryn McBride and husband Brian, Fred Key and his wife Tami, Jo Ann Ledbetter and her husband Keith; great-grandchildren James Duas Kelley, Kiley Henderson, Marshal Henderson, Lauryn Kromka, Heliegh Brownlee, Airam Brownlee, Taylor Key and Ryan Ledbetter. A Come and Go Visitation will be from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, , 15, 2016 at Bean Massey Burge in Grand Prairie. Committal Service will be at DFW National at 2:15 pm. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Billy Mac Marberry. Charlene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Her life was filled with love for her family. Obituary: KELLER -- John William Marbach passed away , 29, 2015, at the age of 87 at his home in Keller. Service: 10 a.m. in Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. at Laurel Land . Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to Spring Valley Baptist Church, Box 161309, Fort Worth, Texas 76161. John was born 10, 1927, in Macdona. He served in the Navy and was a veteran of World War II. John was assistant superintendent of the Union Pacific Railroad in Fort Worth. Later he transferred to San Antonio, then he retired in Brownsville on 1, 1985, after 38 years of service. Following retirement, John was recognized for his outstanding service to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth for his dedication of 27 years and more than 21,000 hours of volunteer service. John enjoyed working in his yard, spending time with family and friends, as well as his dog, Rusty. He was an active member of his church, first, Birchman Baptist Church, and more recently, Spring Valley Baptist Church. John was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Annie Marbach; his wife of 35 years, Marceline Marbach; twin brother, Alfred Marbach; sister, Mildred Waltisberger; son-in-law, Ronnie Smith; and beloved dog, Toby. Survivors: His wife of 33 years, Betty Jo Marbach; daughters, Barbara Remmers and husband, Tommy, and Maxine Smith; sons, Marlin Marbach and wife, Lori, Donald Macky and wife, Jonice, and David Macky and wife, Pam; several nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Troy Remmers and wife, Mica, Krista Morgan and husband, Everett, Scott Smith and wife, Candice, Lauren Marbach, Elizabeth Lay, Melissa Macky, Laura Upchurch and husband, Boshman, Stefanie Marbach and Christopher Marbach; and great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Asher, Emilee, Carter, Jude, Izabelle, Donald and Gifton. |
