Obituary: Allen Marable, 89, of Tyler, passed away 14, 2014, with his family around him. A private family service was held. A memorial service for Mr. Marable is scheduled for , May 17, 2014, at 11:00am at the Marvin United Methodist Church Chapel with the Reverend Gerry Giles officiating. He was born in Clarksville, Texas, on 26, 1924, to Paul Davis and Dorothy Maude Cook Marable. He graduated from Clarksville High School in 1941 where he was editor of the yearbook and played varsity football. He enlisted in the Army and served honorably during World War II. Upon his discharge he attended The University of Texas in Austin and graduated in 1948. He married his childhood sweetheart, Mildred Wooley, of Clarksville in 1946. established residence in Tyler in 1954. He was an independent petroleum landman for over 60 years, serving all of East Texas and much of the United States. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Mildred Marable; his dear grandson, Jeffrey Allen Findley of Seabrook; and his brother, Paul Davis Marable, Jr., of Waco. Survivors include daughters, Cathy Marable of Clarendon, Marilyn Findley and husband, Ken of Seabrook; Amy McBride and husband, Michael of Virginia; dear grandchildren, Jennifer Murphy and husband, Dale of Austin, and Jonathan Findley and wife, Kim of Pasadena; sister, Ann Priest of Dallas; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Salvation Army or your own charity. |

Obituary: MARA, DARWIN WAYNE passed away at age 97 on 3, 2014 in Dallas, Texas. He was born 2, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois to Frank Francis Mara and Mary Pecha. Darwin had a passion for music from the age of 10 playing the saxophone. He also played the clarinet in the marching band at Crane Tech High School. He played saxophone as a professional musician in dance bands in the 1930s. He began a 40 year career at Western Electric in 1941 at the Hawthorn Works in Chicago. He worked his way from a position as a wireman to a section chief in the quality assurance department. He was transferred to the Columbus, Ohio facility in 1957 to set up the quality assurance program and became the department chief of QA three years later. In 1969 he was asked to transfer to the newly created Dallas plant to help set up the QA program there. He retired from AT&T, the successor to Western Electric, in 1981. Darwin was an ardent admirer of Abraham Lincoln and Marilyn Monroe. He was fond of saying that he was not sure whether there were any descendants of Marilyn Monroe to be contacted, but that any descendants of Abraham Lincoln could be reached at his Gettysburg Address. He was preceded in death by Bernice Mara nee Malek, his wife of 54 years, and by Rollo A. Mara, his older brother. Darwin is survived by his four children and his younger brother, Warren F. Mara. His four children and their spouses are:Arlene Alexander and husband, Dan; Phyllis Eschleman and husband, Mike;Glenn Mara and wife, Beth; and Nancy Faerber and husband, Chuck. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and their spouses and 15 great grandchildren: Danny and Lisa Alexander, and sons, Neil and Conrad; Paul and Rachel (Blistein) Alexander, and daughters Kyla and Maya; Tom Eschleman; Karen and Charles Smith; David and Shelley Eschleman, son, Brayden, and daughter Evielynne; Kristen and Tom Nolan, and sons, Morgan and Micah Darwin; Kevin Eschleman; Nathan and Tara Mara, and children, Keller, Joshua, Kathryn, and Jason; Andy and Chloe Mara, and daughters, Cadence and Madeline; Kathryn Mara; Nick and Taylor Faerber, and son, Brody; Michael Faerber; and Kelly Faerber. On , 10 there will be a Visitation from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Restland . Obituary: Manuela Hernandez Mar, born 20, 1921 in rural Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on 7, 2017 in Albuquerque, NM. Her parents, Angela Reyes de Guerrero and Jose Maria Hernandez, both succumbed to illnesses early in their lives, leaving 8 year old Manuela in the care of family in El Paso, TX. Her family was her biggest joy: mother of seven, grandmother of 23, great grandmother of 33, and great-great grandmother of one (with another on the way later this year). A devout southern Baptist for her entire adult life, she was a warrior for Jesus Christ for worship at home, church, and especially mission work in Juarez. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ben Mar, and son, Lee Mar. She is survived by Santiago Mar of Corpus Christi, TX, Alfredo Marr (Irene) of Twenty-Nine Palms, CA, Mae Mar Skatzes of El Paso, TX, Marcela (Don) Martin of Rockwall, TX, Leila Mar of El Paso, TX, and Nina (Paul) Herzog of Albuquerque, NM, and many others in her extended family. Early in their marriage, she worked alongside her husband in their Chinese restaurant. When her husband developed debilitating health conditions, she returned to school and received her cosmetology license. her husbands passing, to support her family, she continued work as a hair stylist for many years. What friends and family remember most is her sweet demeanor, tenacious spirit and unwavering faith. A longtime member of Grant Ave Baptist Church and later Immanuel Baptist Church in El Paso, she delighted in singing in the choir, especially performing in concert musicals. She was an active member of the Womens Missionary Union. Mission work was her calling since she participated in the development of Grant Avenue Baptist Church from a Chinese mission to a designated Baptist church of the Southern Baptist Convention. She volunteered for mission work in Juarez; often ministering to women and small children. She enthusiastically studied to increase her biblical knowledge at the IBBI (International Baptist Bible Institute) well into her senior years. Participating in the Primetimer group at Immanuel gave her much joy and fellowship. She was a spiritual role model for her family, with hopes that, in turn, they would pass on her legacy of faith and community. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Lottie Moon offering at Immanuel Baptist church or at your local church. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on , 12, 2017 at Hillcrest -Carolina. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 am at Immanuel Baptist Church on , 13, 2017.
