Obituary: Martha Jo Kelley Manuppelli, age 84, passed away on , May 23, 2012, surrounded by her family. Martha Jos husband of 62 years, Mike, started calling her Kelley when they began dating in high school and shes answered to it ever since. Kelley was born on May 4, 1928 in San Antonio, to Victor and Oma Kelley. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and attended Trinity University. She is survived by her husband, Mike, and their three children: Molly Kraft and husband, Tim and their son, Colt; Scott Manuppelli and wife, Debby and their children, Holden, Hannah and Luke; Kelley Sue Grubbs and husband, Kevin and their sons, Joshua and Michael. Kelley and Mike were inseparable and, together, dedicated their lives to God, family and community. As a member of Concordia Lutheran Church for 56 years, Kelley participated and organized many church activities. She was a member of the choir, volunteered during Vacation Bible School and School, and helped lead or organize many other church activities. Kelley was often the one providing meals to families in crisis, visiting shut-ins, and working in the church office. raising her children, Kelley served as a foster parent, as a member of United Ways grant selection committee, and many years as a volunteer at St. Lukes Hospital. Kelleys interests were wide-ranging. Besides her 6 grandchildren, she was part of a quilting group for many years, learned how to be a seamstress from her mom, created a backyard garden for the many birds she fed and loved, was an amateur geographer and lover of maps, and loved cooking. Kelley and Mike began to travel internationally in 1972, with the Olympic Games in Munich, Germany. were able to visit Switzerland, Mexico, Costa Rica, Spain, France and Italy. However, she looked forward most to an annual family reunion in South Padre. Kelleys earthly remains were cremated. A memorial service will be held , 9th at 11:00 a.m. at Concordia Lutheran Church, 16801 Huebner Road at Loop 1604, San Antonio, TX 78258. A reception will follow at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Concordia Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, or Cancer Therapy Research , Office of Development, MC7835, 7703 Floyd Curl Drive, San Antonio, TX 78229 or Lutheran Social Services, 8305 Cross Park Dr., Austin, Texas 78754. Obituary: Frank Manuppelli, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away , 8, 2003. He attended Jefferson High School, University of Texas, Engineering, Hampden Sydney, Engineering, and St. MaryÂs School of Law. He served in the U. S. Navy in World War II. Mr. Manuppelli was a Special Agent of FBI, Personnel Director for the City of San Antonio, General Manager of Howard Areo, General Manager and Executive Vice President of HemisFair and Executive Vice President of Ellison Industries. He served as Chairman of San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, Brotherhood Award for the National Association of Christians and Jews and Chairman of FiremenÂs and PolicemenÂs Civil Service Commission for 22 years. Mr. Manuppelli was President of San Antonio builders Association, Life Director of National builders Association, Chairman of Development Board of Incarnate Word , Founding Member of Bexar Hospital District, Chairman of Ex-FBI Agents Association, President of San Antonio Golf Association and Director of PGA Seniors Tour and promoted it to a $1, 000, 000 purse and many other boards too numerous to mention. Mr. Manuppelli was predeased by his son, Stephen and his parents, Col. Daniel Manuppelli and Ora Hogan Manuppelli. Survivors: wife, Lauretta; children, son, Jeffrey and wife, Sara; daughter, Laura and husband, James; grandchildren, Isabella and Jake; brothers, Daniel and Mike; sisters-in-law, Kelly Manuppelli and Elinor Buschell; cousin, Martha; numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life for Manuel will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wed. 1, 2015, at Forest Park and on Westheimer Rd. The funeral will be , 2, at 10:00 a.m. Manuel was born in Houston, TX, on 18, 1939, to Manuel and Olivia Sosa. He married Hortensia Silva Sosa in 1967. Manuel worked for the City of Houston, Library Dept. for 16 years. Prior to that he did paint and body work for Borden Dairy and different auto dealers, in the Houston area. He was a member of Lakewood Church for 31 years and passionate in serving in the Life Group Ministry for more than 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and travelling throughout the USA and Israel, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Spain and Mexico. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Manuel D. Sosa and Olivia Gutierrez Sosa. Manuel is survived by his wife, Hortensia Silva Sosa, of 47 years, also brothers and sisters: Alex and Yolanda Sosa, Olivia Ramirez, Rev. David and Bertha Sosa, Rev.
