Obituary: Rita Faye (Anderson) Manske, 75, of McGregor passed away evening, 30, 2010. services will be 10:00 A.M. , 3, 2010, at Zion Lutheran Church, 503 S. Tyler Street, McGregor, with Pastor Walter Klockers officiating. Interment will follow in McGregor under the direction of Cole , 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 P.M. at Cole . Rita was born 28, 1934, in Oglesby, Texas, the daughter of the late Garland Newton and Vivian (Ross) Anderson. At an early age, she moved to McGregor where she was a 1952 graduate of McGregor High School. She continued her education at Baylor University where she earned a B.B.A. degree in 1955. Over a twenty year career, she taught business subjects at Midway, Crawford, McGregor, and Jonesboro ISDs and was a Vocational Office Education Coordinator for Gatesville ISD. Rita was a past member of Temple Porcelain Art Guild, holding numerous offices. She was an avid china painter and studied under many renowned china painters. At an early age, Rita was baptized at First Baptist Church of McGregor and became an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in McGregor in 1989 where she was a member of the Esther Circle. Also preceding her in death was a brother, Lloyd Anderson. Survivors include her husband of fifty-four years, Eugene C. Manske; two daughters, Gwendolyn Anne Manske of McAllen, Melanie Tidwell and husband Chuck of Corsicana; two granddaughters, Heather Pittman and husband Jamie of Ft. Myers, Florida, Tara Tidwell of Corsicana; a grandson, Ty Tidwell of Corsicana; one great granddaughter, Heidi Cay Pittman of t. Myers, Florida; a brother, Frank Anderson of McGregor; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Manske of Waco; and nieces Sharon Wolfe of Lorena and Diane York of Austin. The family expresses their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the wonderful people of Wesley Woods Alzheimers for their excellent care and compassion these past three and a half years and also to the caring people of Providence Hospice. Obituary: Jeanne Anna Manship passed away on 19th, 2008. She was born on 20th 1920, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She married Joseph Manship on 17th 1939 in Philadelphia, Pa. spent an exciting 30 years together in the United Stated Air Force. Along with their sons, they traveled throughout the country and spent 4 years overseas. She was an avid golfer, loved to travel and visit family. Jeanne was an avid Spurs fan who loved Texas and was proud to be a Texan. Mom was known to all as a great people person and she will always be remembered for her cheerful smile and outgoing personality. She engaged everyone she met in conversation. Jeanne and her husband Joe retired from the Air Force in 1968 at Lockbourne AFB, Ohio, and moved to Orlando Florida, were they spent 20 years enjoying their lakefront home. The entire family enjoyed visiting this house and will always remember our New Years Eve celebrations at the Top of the World, at Disney World. In 1988, they moved to San Antonio, Texas where they were residents at the Air Force Village II. Jeanne was active at the AFV II, supporting the Catholic Womens Group and various other social events. She had many friends at the AFV II and enjoyed weekly shopping trips to the local malls. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Joe and her daughter-in-law, Claire. She is survived by her two sons, Joseph and Mark; her daughter-in-law, Jan; grandchildren, Paul Joseph, Jeana, Julie, and Mark Jr; and her great grandchildren, Alexia, Emma, Brooks, Griffin, Ava and Jacob. |

Obituary: Evelyn Dorothy Brune Mansheim passed to her Eternal Reward at dawn on , 22, 2016, at her Corpus Christi, Texas, home. A resident of Corpus Christi since , 1938, Evelyn was born on 6, 1918, on her familys farm outside of West Point, Lee , Iowa. Her parents were Bernhart Ben Brune and Bernardine Wellman Brune, and she was delighted to be one of their 11 children. Her mom, dad, brothers and sisters would play a lifelong center role in Evelyns life. Growing up, Evelyn would sing quality harmony with her brothers and sisters, who would race to learn a new song on the radio so he or she could teach it to others. The family singing was passed to the newer family generations and was carried on to their regular Brune family reunions which were Evelyns all-time favorite events. Her family sang in church, as well as at home. In West Point, Evelyn received her superior educational foundation at the Saint Mary of the Assumption Catholic Churchs school system. The Brunes have been members of St. Marys for over seven generations and it was here that Evelyn was taught the importance of God and Family. Evelyn would meet her future husband, Francis V. Frank Mansheim, of nearby Fort Madison, Iowa, at a local school dance and they would become high school sweethearts and then engaged. It was Franks move to Corpus Christi in 1937 for work that eventually brought Evelyn to follow in 1938. were the last couple to be married at Corpus Christis old St. Patrick Catholic Cathedral on 3, 1940. In addition to the old Cathedral, Evelyn and Frank were members of the new Corpus Christi Cathedral, St. Theresa Church, St. Patrick Church, and Saint Pius X Church over their courtship and 67-year marriage. Evelyn used her education to advance her career outside the home at a time when few women did. She loved the years she spent at the International Bank of Corpus Christi where she was the first female to serve as a Public Relations and Marketing Director. Her job was to promote the bank and bring in new customers, duties she performed with great success. In addition, Evelyn taught Women in Management at Del Mar for many years, helping many young Corpus Christi women to get their feet in the door. Evelyn was a member of numerous local organizations, including Saint Christopher Holy Family Guild, the Catholic social and charitable club, the Sultanas. Additionally, she belonged to the old Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce, where she served as a goodwill ambassador to Corpus Christis sister city Tampico, Mexico. She belonged to Women in Construction, Sales and Marketing Executives, C.C. Advertising Club, The Music Club, Saint Pius X Church Womens Circle, Saint Pius X Church choir and Schola, The Theresians, Bay Area Garden Guild, and other charitable groups. Regarding Evelyn, local residents said, Shes a joiner. And Evelyn, herself, described her hobby as People. Evelyn and her husband, Frank, were blessed with three children, Francis Clement Frank (Vicki) Mansheim, Horseshoe Bay, Texas, and two daughters, Joan Ellen Mansheim Whitmire and, Katherine Ann Mansheim, both of Corpus Christi. Six grandchildren: Gary Ben (Rachel) Mansheim, Jerry Dale Mansheim, Thomas Walker (Yesenia) Hewett Jr., Russell Thomas (Yuki) Whitmire, Joy Katherine Whitmire (Jason) Pollock, and Katherine Joan Evelyn Hewett. Additionally, there are 12 great-grandchildren: Genevieve Elizabeth Hewett, Brant Robert Pollock, Rylan Ray Pollock, Bianca Reef Mansheim, Pierce Walker Mansheim, Trason Thomas Pollock, twins Carson Ray and Patrick Nelson Whitmire, Kian Michael Pollock, Bridget Frances Mansheim, and Brock Thomas Whitmire. A great-grandson angel Sebastian Thomas Hewett, awaits his Mimi Evelyn in Heaven, along with son-in-law Ray Whitmire. Evelyns family expresses its deepest gratitude to her care provider and close friend Mrs. Pat Reyes, as well as to Mrs. Idelia Medina. Also, her family thanks the devoted, nurses of Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Pius X Catholic Church in memory of Evelyn B. Mansheim.
