Obituary: Dallas, Texas resident Thelma Marie Manes, 88, passed away peacefully on Dec. 15, 2014. A celebration to honor her memory will be held on Dec. 26, 2014, at Laurel Land , located at 6000 South R.L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75232, at 2 p.m... A viewing will be held an hour before burial. Thelma was born in Mexia,Texas, on 2, 1926. Thelma resided in Texas. In 1941, she met her husband JT Manes, where they raised four children together. JT and Thelma recently celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary. Thelma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed meeting new people and sharing her life stories. Her hobbies included sewing and making candy for everyone during the holidays. She was proud of her grandchildren and attended every family function. She was loving, caring and very grateful for everything and everyone in her life. She always had smile and a hug to share. Her favorite color was red and her favorite flower was the rose. She leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and who will always be grateful for her influence in their lives. Thelma is preceded in death by her son, JT Manes III. She is survived by her children: Dorothy Carlson of Alaska; Sue Lawson of Texas; JT Manes II of Alaska. Grandchildren: Erick John Carlson, Tina Lawson, Michelle Carlson, Dwayne Lawson, Jeff Carlson, Justin Manes, Devin Manes. She also has 10 Great-Grandchildren and 6 Great Great-Grandchildren. |

Raymond England officiating and burial to follow at Oakwood in Denison, Texas. Pallbearers will be Dylan Buff, Colten Henslee, Josh Bray, Greg Rostyne, Wesley Weber, Derick Damon. Honorary pallbearer will be Devin Mitchell. Carol was born , 25, 1944 in Denison, Texas, the daughter of Jason & Hazel (Lindsey) Manrey. She devoted her entire life to Gods ministry and family. She worked at Levis for 20 plus years, then went to Diaper Jeans for 9 years. During this time, she played the piano at Trinity Lighthouse Church for 40 years, traveling to various parts of the country. She, sister Jean Hendrix and longtime friend Naomi Ribble sang as a trio as timewent along. Her nephews Ronnie Hendrix and Damon Hendrix joined the ministry after 40 years at Trinity Lighthouse Church. God called Carol in a different direction that led to her pastoring River of Life Full Gospel Church. Her music and ministry inspired people all across the country. Her favorite saying was Only one life, it will soon be passed, only whats done for Christ will last. She is survived by nephews Ronnie Hendrix & wife Catherine of Denison, Damon Hendrix of Denison, Jimmy Bray & wife Melba of Colbert, Oklahoma; niece Susan Binnings & husband Earl of Thibodeaux, Louisiana; great-niece Emily Hendrix of Denison; care taker Lela Sutherland of Denison. Our pastor has gone to meet the Lord. Her long journey has been long and hard. Now she has that happy smile. She walked the long hard mile. She will be missed, but Jesus will give her a holy kiss. Obituary: Joretta Palmer Maner left this world on 4, 2014. She was born 9, 1932 in Tulia, Texas to Vera and Joe Palmer. She married Jack Maner on 11, 1953. Joretta graduated from Tulia High School and from Lubbock Memorial School of . She was an RN at Methodist Hospital nursery for many years. She loved those babies! She went to work for Dr Burkholder in the 80s and later worked for Dr Al Alami until her retirement. Joretta was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was very active and supportive of the ministry. Joretta was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Jatonne; son James; sisters Delores Maner and Maxine Svoboda. She is survived by her husband, Jack; son Jay and wife Marilyn; daughter-in-law Angelia; brother-in-law Clinton and wife Jettie; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
