Obituary: Maridella Maddux, 91, passed away 26, 2015 in Odessa.
She was born 24, 1924 to Clay and Irene Maples Hodges in Christian , MO.
She was a Real Estate Broker for Edison Wasson for many years and a long time member of First Baptist Church Odessa.
She had many coffee group friends at Chick Fil A and McDonalds and loved Taco at Rosas. She was an avid Permian High School Football Supporter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Clay Hodges Jr. and Herbert Hodges.
She is survived by her son, Greg Maddux and wife Therese of Odessa, sister-in law, Bess Ellen Hodges,
nephew, James Herbert Hodges and wife Pam and great-nephew, Trevor Hodges, two grandchildren, Clay Maddux and wife Shannon and Caitlyn Maddux and one great-grandchild, Ryan Thomas Maddux.
Family will receive friends from 6-8pm , 8, 2015 at Frank W. Wilson Directors.
service will be 10am , 9, 2015 at Frank W. Wilson Chapel with Don Norris officiating.
Burial will be 11am , 12, 2015 at Wise Hill in Clever, MO. In lieu of flowers,
donations can be made to First Baptist Church Odessa or the American Diabetes Association.

Obituary: James Frederick Maddux, beloved father, husband and grandfather, passed away of natural causes at Morningside Manor in San Antonio, Texas on Sept. 29, 2009. He is survived by four children: James Michael and spouse Sidney Brammer, Frederick Taylor, John Stephen, and Mary Bernadette and spouse Richard Altenberg; two nieces; and three grandchildren. His wife Agnes predeceased him in 2008. Fred was born in Sycamore, Georgia on 17, 1916 to parents Creed Taylor Maddux and Ida Nussel Maddux. Graduating from Sycamore High School in 1933, Fred attended medical school at the University of Georgia School of Medicine in a, GA, where he developed an interest in psychiatry. He supported himself during this time by teaching music at a local high school. obtaining his medical degree in 1941, he joined the Coast Guard as a medical officer in 1943, and received an honorable discharge in 1945. residency training in psychiatry at the U.S. Public Service Hospital USPHS in Ft. Worth, Texas, he began working as a medical Officer at the District Coast Guard Medical Office in Seattle, Washington. In 1945 he married Agnes Jeanette Griffin, and they remained married until Agness death in 2008. working in various posts for the Public Service, including Medical Officer in Charge at the USPHS in Ft. Worth, Fred retired from the Public Service in 1969, and took a position at the faculty of psychiatry at the University of Texas Science . He also worked as Director of Research, Drug Dependence Program, at the Bexar MHMR , from 1972 to 1986. Fred was a member of the American Medical Association, and a Life Fellow of both the American Psychiatric Association, and the American Orthopsychiatric Association. In addition to being an avid golfer and a life-time music lover, Fred always enjoyed playing piano for people or listening to others play. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the Morningside Manor Covenant Fund, 700 Babcock Rd., San Antonio, TX 78201.

Obituary: Francis Wyatt Bud Maddux, 98, of Sugar Land, passed away on , 8th, 2016. He was born the 7th of 9 children to Francis Wright Maddux and Marlow Maddux on 14th, 1917, in Barling, Arkansas.

Bud was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Anita McDonald Maddux, as well as all of his siblings. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Marlaine and Ken White of Sugar Land, his son Wyatt Maddux of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and his son Robert Maddux of Sugar Land; his grandchildren, Trainor White and wife Maria, Valerie Thurmond and husband Robert, and Elaine Turner and husband Jim; Great Grandchildren, Harrison and Marlie Turner, Dashiell and Quillan Thurmond, and Maddux and Seraffina White. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Bud and Anita met and married in 1939 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Like-minded and down to earth, they led an adventurous life travelling the world together. From touring South Africa to riding motor scooters on the Greek island of Corfu, they embraced every moment. resided in many places including England and Norway. eventually settled in Tulsa, Oklahoma to finish raising their children and in 1976, they moved to Houston to be near their grandchildren.

Buds entire career was spent in the Pipeline industry, especially underwater pipeline. In the late 40s and early 50s, he and his family lived in and around Maracaibo, Venezuela, while he worked on laying a pipeline under Lake Maracaibo. He went on to work off the coasts of places like Trinidad, Sumatra, Angola, and ultimately spent the last years of his career working on pipelines in the North Sea for Brown & Root.

retiring, Bud was determined to stay fit and healthy. He kept busy with the family and also took occasional hunting and fishing forays with good friends. He has worked with a personal trainer, Dr. Pat Hayden, for the past 15+ years, and only stopped recently due to a serious injury. The family would like to thank Pat for his constant motivation and devotion to Bud. The family would also like to thank his housekeeper, Esther Rosette for her loyal service. Last, they would like to thank the staff and caretakers at Colonial Oaks Assisted Living in Sugar Land where Bud spent his final months.

Bud was well loved and known for his easygoing personality. He always enjoyed whatever he was doing, "Just like the farmer's little duck" as he liked to say. He found great enjoyment in the simple pleasures of life including a good meal, a bowl of vanilla ice cream, a classic movie western or dancing a waltz. He felt pure joy when observing nature and the animal world. He was a dog lover and always had one by his side until he could no longer care for them. Bud was happiest of all when with his large family and watching the younger ones discover the world.

The last of his generation, Bud meant the world to his family. His straight talk, easy ways and natural wisdom all contribute to the legacy of love he leaves behind. He will be greatly missed.

The Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on , 15, 2016 at The Settegast-Kopf Directors at Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, TX 77478.
