Obituary: Anna Kitty Tipton Middleton, beloved wife and mother, age 78, of Hixson died , 14, 2011 at Hospice of Chattanooga. Mrs. Middleton was born 30, 1932 in Tracy City to the late Oscar and Lillie (Bates) Tipton. Mrs Middleton was preceded in death by her husband Robert L R.L. Middleton, two sisters Ruby Cooper and Canelia Tipton and three brothers Tinsley Tipton, Dickie Tipton and Arthur Little Boy Tipton. She was retired from Dupont. Survivors include a son Billy and Shirley Middleton, a daughter JoAnn and Gene Veal, and grandchildren Christy and Benny Foshee, Chris and Ginger Middleton, Angela and Eric Hart, great grandchildren Trey Foshee, Jared Foshee, Blake Smith and Collin Hart, sister Edna Gabriel and a brother Oscar Big Boy Tipton and several nieces and nephews. services will be held 16, 2011 at 3:00 pm from the North Chapel of Chattanooga home with Chaplain Gloria Westerfield officiating. Interment will follow in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 2-4 and 6-8. Special thanks to the Hospice of Chattanooga and Staff. Obituary: Ann Lucille Huxford Middleton (1936 - 2010) Ann Middleton died on , 22, 2010, but her spirit will live on through the lives of all those whom she touched. All would say she was feisty and opinionated and giving and confident. Her reach goes from South of Broad in Charleston to the coffee pot labeled meeting rooms of AA and nobody who met her left unaffected. You were struck by her honesty.an honesty that was laced with charm. She told you what you needed to hear, not what you wanted to hear, but you somehow felt better. Ann saw you the way God sees you. perfect.even with all your flaws, and maybe even because of your flaws. You knew you had been graced. She always claimed "Chaaaaleston" as home even though she left at the age of 18 and spent the last 44 years of her life in Jackson, TN. But, truthfully, wherever she was, she made that spot "home". Appearances were all important. The silver needed to be polished, the flowers placed just so, and all her precious "artifacts" in their proper place. She had high standards. But you knew it came from a place of love. She wanted you to feel special enough for all that attention to detail. You know what they say- "God is in the details." And Ann lived by that code. She was best friends with God. Anns presence has been felt in so many disparate places. She left her mark in Charleston, SC, where she was born and grew up; in New York City where she began her married life and family; in Columbia, MO; and in Jackson, TN. Her legacy of genuine love will be widespread and long remembered. Her husband, Gus, sums it up perfectly. "The light of my life has been snuffed out, but its afterglow will illuminate my path for the rest of my terrestrial journey." Ann leaves behind her husband, us L. Middleton; her children, Elizabeth Herbers (Paul) of Kansas City, MO, Pamela Middleton (Fernan Jaramillo) of Northfield, MN, us Middleton III ( Alice Bean, Brian Cvilikas) of Lovettsville, VA, Charles Middleton (Liz) of Allen, TX, Robert Middleton of Jackson, TN; and her beloved Sugah; her grandchildren, Alice and Margaret Rainka, Sara and Eduardo Jaramillo, Christopher and Ashley Middleton; her sisters, Janet Woodard of Charleston, SC and Florence Kurtz of Charleston, SC; her brother, Russell Huxford of Charleston, SC. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Florrie Huxford; her sisters, Marion Huxford, Madeline Dunbar and Wilma Dively. services will be held 4 p.m. on , 25, 2010 at St. Lukes Episcopal Church, Jackson, TN. Obituary: Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, William Roy Mickle, passed away at the Comfort House in McAllen, Texas on , 6, 2006 at the age of 86. Roy will be remembered as a man of faith, honor, family, and generousity toward others. He treated everyone he met as a friend and offered his helping hand to anyone needing it. The son of William and Clora Kilgo Mickle, Roy was born in Cullman Alabama in 1919. He graduated from Goodlettsville High School in 1938 and was the salutatorian of his class. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps and served as a pilot during World War II. Following the war, Roy located to Columbia where he worked at Monsanto Chemical until his retirement. He was active as a poll worker for numerous elections following his retirement. An avid gardener, Roy regularly shared the many fruits and vegetables that he grew with friends around Columbia. If you were fortunate, you might have received some of his special fruit preserves. Roy was an active member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Columbia for many years. Roy is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Thelma Sue Luckey Mickle of McAllen, Texas; five daughters, Leathea (Robert) Drello, Pamela (Ed) Norwood, and Dianna Niemiec, all of Atlanta; DeEtta (Danny) Jones of Memphis; Belinda (Glen) Hodges of Mt. Pleasant; one son, Timothy (Lisa) Mickle of McAllen, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Norton Mickle; brothers, Authur Mickle, Leon Mickle, Devon Mickle, Howard Mickle; and sisters, Etta Phillips, and Winnie Lewis. The family wishes to thank the Sandi Jo Funk Hospice, the Comfort House, Dr. Jeff Hines, and Dr. Michael Jelinek. Memorial donations may be made to the Comfort House, 617 Dallas Street, McAllen, Texas 78503. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com.
