Obituary: Robert Houston McNeese, 87, went to be with The Lord on 9, 2015. Bob's life was marked with a great love for God, his family and friends. He was known as a gentleman who always wore a contagious smile. He was a gifted man of great character and wit. He owned his own construction company for many years, but also succeeded in other endeavors such as college professor, real estate broker, and property manager. He was musically talented, playing both organ and piano. He was a lifetime learner. He enjoyed his affiliation with Park Avenue Masonic Lodge and had been an extremely active and beloved member there for 66 years. He is preceded in death by his mother, Addie McNeese, and father, James McNeese, his brothers, John McNeese and Douglas McNeese, and his sister, Olene Weaver. He is survived by his four children, Katherine Louise Petermann, Robert H. McNeese, Jr., James Edward McNeese, and Karen McNeese Currey. He is also survived by his 18 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who have been close to him throughout his life. No words can describe how much he will be missed. Obituary: Nancye Igou Cunningham McNeese, age 92, of Hixson, heard the voice of Jesus calling her name to come home on , 30, 2015. Nancye was born and raised in Chattanooga. She graduated from Central High School in 1941 and then on to McKenzie Business . She worked at Wheeler and after her children were in school, she was Secretary to Col. H. P. Dunlap at McCallie School. Nancye married her high school sweetheart, Sanford Alexander Cunningham, Jr., in 1944. Sanford passed in 1973, Nancye was introduced to her love, Thomas Howard McNeese, by a dear friend, Tommy Cox. had a wonderful time of traveling and spending 34 years together before his passing in 2008. Nancye was a loving and devoted wife, Mother, Nana, and a friend to many. She was a former member of Brainerd Baptist Church, and currently a member of Red Bank Baptist Church where she loved her Truth Seekers School Class of brothers and sisters in Christ. Her life was centered around her family and friends. Nancye was preceded in death by her loving parents, Samuel Houston and Sarah Sells Igou; her sister and brother-in-law, Lorena Blevins and Allison Elrod; nephew, Taylor Elrod. Nancye is survived by her children, Sanford Buddy A. Cunningham, III, Melanie Ann Cunningham (Ron) Frere, and Ronald Houston (Sharon) Cunningham; her ten precious grandchildren; Sanford Alexander (Sandy) Cunningham, IV, Courtney Frere (Bryan) Arrington, Ron (Rose) Frere, Jr., Nancye Cunningham (Mike) Bennett, Thomas Dyer (Nicole) Cunningham, Matthew Allen Cunningham, Lara Cunningham, Chad Cunningham, Jenna Cunningham, Shane (Melody) Kelly; and her 14 darling great grands as she called them; her dear brother, William Houston Igou and sweet sister-in-law, Dortha Bryan Igou; special cousins, Mary Jane Sells (Dean) Heavener, Barbara Bingham, Jane Bennett and Betty Sue Alexander; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to say a special thank you to Avalon Hospice and nurses, Cindy, Jackie and Kim. The family will receive friends from 10 am to 2:30 pm on , 4, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga . Obituary: View Video Tribute James Anthony Tony McNeese, 56, resident of Chestnut Drive, died , 26, 2017, at Maury Regional Medical . services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols with Brother Herb Helton officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury native was the son of the late James Willard McNeese and Martha Cummings Sullivan. He enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, and working on lawn mowers. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and loved his dogs; but most important, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer (Juan) Vargas of Columbia; grandchildren, Jaylon McNeese, Joey McNeese, Jacob McNeese; sister, Cynthia (Richard) Bramlett of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sherry Lynn McNeese; and the love of his life, Pamela Faye Fox.
