Obituary: Beloved Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Niece, Cousin, Aunt and Friend❤️ Connie Moore Services: All Saints Pawleys Island , 15, 2016 Obituary: Constance (Connie) Marie Moore, 67, of Georgetown died on 6, 2016 due to complications of heart failure. Services and burial will take place on , 15 at 11:00AM in the historic building at All Saints Church of Pawleys Island, 3560 Kings River Road. Born 12, 1949 to Air Force Colonel, William E Moore, Jr. and Winifred Moore, the family was stationed many places during Connies childhood, including: Blacksburg, VA, Miami, Rome NY, Hampton, VA, Glendale, AZ, and Sumter, SC. Connie eventually settled down in South Carolina and was a graduate of the University of SC. She resided in Florence, Columbia, Pawleys Island, and Georgetown. She is survived by her son, Patrick Moore (Tammi), and their three sons: Mace, Jake, and Evan of Colorado Springs; daughter, Piper (Matt) Webb of Winnsboro, S.C; brother, William E. Moore III of Colorado Springs; along with nieces and nephews and their families, as well as many beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Betty Anne Peterson of Atlanta, GA. Connie will be remembered as a free spirit with a unique style, sparkling blue eyes, funny sense of humor, pet dachshunds, and love of the beach. Rest in Gods Eternal Peace Connie, you will be missed. Connie Marie Moore ULOGY From a small town in Blacksburg, Virginia, a beautiful red-headed, blue-eyed little girl came into this world. Connies Father, whom was a Colonel of the Air Force and her Mother, whom was a Captain of the United States Army & Registered Nurse. Her two siblings Betty Anne & Bill, whom she loved very much. She was a beloved Wife, Mother; of Patrick & Piper, Grandmother, Aunt, Niece, Cousin & Friend. Many of us got to know her in our own special way, here are a few memories we would like to share. Family reunions with the Colemans & the Moores at the beach house every summer. With our memory of her we have the vision of her sitting on the beach, with her oversized beach hat, under an umbrella, wearing her sunglasses taking up a large amount of her petite face, lathered up in sunscreen; shed have a smile that would light up a nights sky, as she overlooked her family playing on the beach in the sun and sand. Another one of Connies proud moments was when she would teach her grandboys, Mace, Jacob & Evan how to trap crabs from the dock on the canal and look for sand crabs on the beach at night, at Litchfield Beach. She would also gather up the older nieces, nephews & cousins and take them out to the boardwalk and experience the Rhythm & Blues, Southern Style. The Dead Dog Saloon was one of her favorite hot spots! Connie made a trip to Colorado to spend time with her family. Her brother Bill took her up to the mountains to have dinner in Cripple Creek Colorado and stop at Bills land, 21 miles away from city lights. Unbeknownst to them, they would witness a glorious meteor shower. sipped from a plastic cup drinking and talking for hours. Connie told Bill, Hey give me more of that Shill-a-bley Bill, thats some good stuff. Bill responded in a perplexed voice, Connie what are you talking about? Connie said he same stuff you just poured me, that shill-a-bley\ Bill chuckled, pick up the box of wine and said you mean the chillable wine? roared…. Connie always said this was one of the best days of her life. A good friend of hers, Christine Martin remembers: Connie was a fun-loving spirit who loved fashion, antiques, boots, music and the beach. Highly intelligent, she was always good for deep thinking conversations. She was also incredibly curious and would not shy away from telling you what was really on her mind but you could always count on her for an honest opinion. She was a true and committed friend, and had a big heart for those she loved. Her pet peeve was tardiness. At exactly 5 minutes past our meeting time, she would be calling me to see why I was late. I used to yell at her for being a pain in the butt! all the years that we had been friends, I told her she should be used to me being late. But sure enough, the next time it happened, she would be calling me anyhow. She told me I was allowed five minutes grace, and not a minute more! So, my dear friend Connie, thanks for the memories and your caring heart. You were always there to listen. I will miss you, but I know that you will be guarding heavens gate, tapping your watch and scolding me for being late when we finally meet again. Jacob, Connies grandson, age 7, Grandma Connie, and Patrick, Connies son went fishing at Eleven Mile Canyon in the beautiful state of Colorado. Packing rods and bait, Connie would show these two Colorado boys how to catch a fish with her experience as a deep-sea fisherman. Jacob was very excited to be included, he packed his tiny rod he got from the Easter bunny; you know, the $5 kids play set fishing rod. set up the mountain, launched the boat and found their perfect spot. Jacob remembers Grandma Connie and Dad, Patrick arguing over how to get the big fish. Getting bites on their lines and the comments losing that one was your fault. At one time they may have even been close to throwing each other overboard. Jacob remembers casting his loyal tiny rod and he caught the ig one…and the only one that day. So one could say Grandma Connie and Patrick gave Jacob a big lesson that day. knew how to catch a big fish, they just may of needed to keep quiet while doing it. Traditions with grand boys included thanksgiving, cutting down the Christmas tree, decorating early Christmas together every year. Connie continued... |
