Matthius, 65, formerly of Sea Bright, N.J., and most recently of Myrtle Beach, S.C., passed away unexpectedly 28, 2016. Mr. Matthius began his career with Refco Partners, and held executive level positions with UBS Securities, Prudential Securities, Advest, and from 2006 to 2013, as senior vice president fixed income trading with Southwest Securities. A native of Staten Island, N.Y., Mr. Matthius was active in his youth at Immanuel Union Church as a member of the basketball league, youth groups and scouts. He achieved the prestigious God and Country, and Eagle Scout awards. An avid sports fan and all-around athlete, Mr. Matthius was a devoted New York Yankees and Giants fan, and dedicated to Wagner athletics, his beloved alma mater. His real passion emerged as golf.
