Obituary: services for Winfield Bully Moon, 88, of Cullman will be held , 22, 2016 at Cullman First Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Pastor Bob Kurtz officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Cullman First Baptist. Interment will be at Flint Creek Baptist Church in Vinemont, AL. Mr. Moon passed away , 19 at Cullman Medical . He was born 17, 1927 in Vinemont, AL to Boyd and Tressie Moon. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Johnny and Iowa Drake, his parents and one sister, Wilda Moon Corley. Bully is survived by his wife of 68 years, Theolene Harbison Moon, along with 4 children: Debbie (Buddy) Shear, Kathy Davis, Winfield Jr. (Caryl) Moon, and Amy (Randy) Braswell plus 8 grandchildren, Josh,Jake and Joey Shear, Ben Kreps, Dr. Jennifer Cupp, Dr. Heather Small, Winfield Moon III (Trey) and Conner Moon. Great grandchildren include, Natalie and Jackson Cupp, and Reef and Ramsey Shear. He is also survived by brothers Alta Drake, Talmadge Drake, and sister, Imogene Lawrence; additionally, a host of nieces and nephews and many, many friends. Mr. Moon was an Army Veteran, long time member of the Cullman Elks Lodge, a Mason and Shriner. He was also a member of St. Johns United Evangelical Church. Mr. Moon was a well known colorful character around town, always having a story to tell. He was well traveled, and a very successful business man, having business interests from Las Vegas to West Virginia, but he always returned to Cullman which he loved so much. He had a big heart and was generous to all who came in contact with him, especially his family. He was fun to be around and loved to share his experiences with anyone who would listen and he will be missed by all who knew him. Obituary: Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. , 26, 2015 at Forrest for Ruth Wallace Moon, age 93, of Gadsden, who passed away , 21, 2015. Rev. Royce Head will officiate. Collier-Butler and Cremation Services is directing. Mrs. Moon was born and raised in Dwight Mill Village and graduated from Emma Sansom High School and later Erlanger School in 1942. She enlisted in the United States Navy in 1945 and served through 1946. the war she continued working in private practice as a nurse for over 50 years with Dr. E. A. Isbell, Sr., Dr. E. A. Isbell, Jr. and Dr. Boyce White. In addition, she frequently volunteered for the Holy Name of Jesus Hospital and the Baptist Hospital. Mrs. Moon was preceded in death by her husband, Troy L. Moon; sisters, Sarah Wallace Elwine, Billie Wallace Warsham and Tommie Wallace Osborn; half-sister, Inez Wallace; and half-brother, Buck Wallace. She is survived by her sister, Doris Wallace Turner; sons, Michael Oliver (Jana) Moon and Patrick Troy (Pamela) Moon; grandsons, Michael Patrick Moon, William Oliver Moon, and Jacob Charles Moon; great-granddaughter, Carolyn Dawn Moon; great-grandson, Troy David Moon; and numerous nieces, nephews and family. Pallbearers will be Michael Patrick Moon, William Oliver Moon, Jacob Charles Moon, Clark Hopper, Josh Brooks, and Lonnie C. Green. Obituary: Ronald Mabry Moon of Indian Springs Alabama passed away , 13th, from injuries sustained at his home. Ron was born 2nd 1944 in Cullman Alabama. His family moved to Birmingham Alabama in 1950. He was a graduate of West End High School in of 1963. Ron then attended Alabama (now the University of Montevallo) and received his Bachelor of Science degree in of 1967. Because of his love for Montevallo, he returned to his alma mater and received his Masters degree in 1978. Rons work career included time with first national bank until he joined the Alabama National Guard in 1967. Following his training with the National Guard, he began his tenure as an educator with Minor High School. In 1972, he developed and became the instructor of the Retailing and Merchandising program at Bessemer State Technical . He was an extraordinary instructor, highly esteemed by his students and is still friends with students from both Minor High School and Bessemer Tech. In 1985, Ron became an administrator with Bessemer Tech prior to serving as the Dean of instruction until 2005. He was selected by his peers to receive the Dean of the Year Award, which was a statewide honor. Ron finished his career there as the interim President of Bessemer State Technical . In 2006, Ron served as Dean of Instruction at Wallace State Community until his retirement in of 2007. Ron had many hobbies. He enjoyed fishing, particularly at Bazemore Mill Pond in southeast Alabama. He enjoyed many years fishing there with his father-in-law, his wife and sons, and friends. Collecting guns, old coins, and finding arrowheads gave him many hours of pleasure. Ron enjoyed hunting as well and was a member of the Alabama Sportsman Club. In addition to these activities, Ron loved the sport of boxing. He was involved with developing the sport in the state and judged professional and amateur boxing matches for 40 years. He was a licensed member of the Alabama Athletic Commission as a judge. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Conrad Moon and Montez Moon. His wife of 48 years, Patricia Stewart Moon, and his two sons, Jason Allen Moon and Justin Daniel Moon, survive him. Surviving him also are his two granddaughters Kaitlyn Grace Moon and Madison Page Moon. He genuinely loved being their Poppy. Ron is also survived by his brother-in-law, Mike Stewart (Jawana) of Dothan, AL; nephew, Spencer Stewart, US Army, as well as several cousins throughout the state and by many friends. Services will be held , 17, 2017 at Southern Heritage in Pelham, Alabama. Bryan Moody and Ken Craig from the Helena Church of Christ, where Ron and his wife are members, will officiate. Serving as pallbearers are Mike Bailey, Jaime Day, Jason Moon, Justin Moon, Joby White, and Flynn Gerald. Honorary pallbearers are Hace Aldridge, Jerry Black, Gary Frye, Mike Stewart, Waynard White, Calvin Nelson, Bryce Grizzard, and Craig White. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00.
