Obituary: Marvin Edward McKee, 97, died peacefully at his home on 11th. Born in Pinson on 19, 1919, he attended public school in Pinson and the Martha Berry High School in Mt. Berry, Georgia. In 1939, he married his ninth grade sweetheart, Louise Miller. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years. In 1958 he was appointed Postmaster for Pinson by President Eisenhower and retired in 1973. Joining the United States Army in 1943, he served his country with the Dixie Division stationed in Manila, Philippines. He enjoyed all the military memorials and reminiscing with other World War II veterans when he flew to Washington, DC with the Honor Flight. Marvin loved meeting and talking to people, never meeting a stranger, was known for his joke telling and quick wit. One of his greatest joys was sharing his early life in Pinson. He loved working with his hands whether building furniture, homes, stripping wire or clearing land, always finding something to do to keep busy. A member of Pinson First Baptist Church, he served as a trustee and deacon for many years president of the Civitian Club, a member of the point Fire Board and a proud member of the Echota Cherokee Tribe. He is predeceased by his parents, Robert S. McKee and Eula Green; brothers, Onas, Ervin, Earl and J.T; sisters, Thelma Eads and Eula Lee Morton. Survived by his wife of 77 years, Louise; children, Marvelyn Deese (James), Judy Sheumaker (Donald), Murk McKee and Donald McKee (Alison); 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson and a host of nieces and nephews. services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Pinson, 4036 Spring Street on , 14, 2016 at 2:00 pm with Dr. Gary Fisher officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow at Marvins Chapel in Pinson. Pallbearers will be grandsons; Gregory Brumbeloe, Matthew McKee, Benjamin McKee, Donald Sheumaker III, Jonathan Sheumaker and great grandson , Bill Robertson V. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the Fountain Fund c/o First Baptist Church of Pinson, 4036 Spring Street, Pinson, AL 35126. Obituary: 10th, 1920 - 26th, 2016 Aged 96, died peacefully at her home on 25th, 2016.Born in Birmingham, she moved to Pinson in 1934 where she met her sweetheart, Marvin. Married in 1939. She loved sports and excelled in all she played; basketball, tennis, handball, and was invited to play professional ball in New York. She taught and enjoyed playing ball with her grandchildren. Her personal life was kept private but was a gracious host and her home was always a welcoming place for friends, family, and anyone who came to visit and delighted in giving parties, teas, and showers. She was active in professional and community activities and events. A member of First Baptist Church in Pinson, she taught School for many years and served on different committees. She was active in Civitans, Eastern Star and helped organize the Young Republicans of Birmingham. She was in real estate since 1946 and later was owner and broker for McKee Realty in Pinson for 26 years, retiring at 76. She is predeceased by her husband of 77 years, Marvin: parents, Murk F. Miller and Adeline Newsome, brothers Murk "Buster" Miller, Joseph Miller, George Miller; sisters Sarah Bailey and Mary Archer. She is survived by children Marvelyn Deese (James), Judy Sheumaker (Donald), Murk McKee, Donald McKee (Alison), and sister Margaret Catalino, as well as 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson and a host of nieces and nephews. Services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Pinson, 4036 Spring St on , 29th, 2016 with Dr. Gary Fisher officiating. Visitation will begin at 12 noon with service to follow at 2. Burial will be at Marvin's Chapel in Pinson. Obituary: Janet Myrick McKee, 84, of Jackson, passed away 25, 2017 at Jackson care Facility. She was born 3, 1933 to Clarence Rone and Winnie Scruggs Myrick in Coffeeville. She graduated from Coffeeville High School and received a Bachelor of Arts in education from Livingston University. She began her teaching career at a Evans School in Mobile, but taught at Joe M. Gilmore and Jackson Academy after she and her husband moved to Jackson in 1965. Together, they also founded The Medical Store in Jackson. A longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Jackson, it was her goal in life to be a Christian wife, mother and teacher. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Roy Myrick, Ned Myrick and Alice Deas. She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” McKee; children, Lisa McKee of Charlotte, NC, Angelia McKee (Mark) Wiggins of Oxford, MS, Robbin Allan (Melisaa) McKee of Jackson; grandchildren, Heather Wiggins (Jim) Moffatt, Haley Wiggins (Joseph) Murphy, Erin McKee, Brittnie McKee, Caleb (Lane) McKee and great-grandchildren, Lawson Moffatt, Myrick Moffatt, Cole Murphy and Grey Murphy. services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on , 27, 2017 at Lathan in Jackson with the Rev.
