Obituary: McARTHUR, E. Jean, Sr. Mr. Mac, 83, died early morning, 21, 2011, after a brief illness. A native of Ashford, Alabama in Houston , Mr. McArthur taught school and was a field supervisor for Retail Credit Co./Equifax. For the last 22 years, Mr. Macs life revolved around his two grandchildren, Kristen and Mary Beth; his work as a tour guide at the Alabama State Capitol; and his loving service caring for his wife, Bettye, during her extended illness. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held , 24, 2011, at 10 a.m. at First Christian Church, Taylor Road, with Rev. Dr. Susan Ward Diamond officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the Ashford City . Mr. McArthur was preceded in death by his wife of 59½ years, Bettye Griffin McArthur. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mac and Cheryl McArthur; two grandchildren, Kristen and Mary McArthur; three sisters-in-law, Nancy Griffin Pate, Nell McArthur and Josephine McArthur; and numerous nieces and nephews.
