Obituary: Tyler Matthew Martin returned home on 17, 2017. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Collier-Butler Chapel with service immediately following at 5 pm. Collier-Butler will be directing. Ryan McGlaughn, Varsity Ministries Team Chaplain, will be leading the service. Born 11, 2002, Tyler is survived by his parents, Scott and Tara Martin; his brother CJ, who will always look to Tyler as the best big brother he could have; his sister Kimberly Carter; grandmother Elaine Carter; grandparents Alan and Brenda Martin; aunts and uncles Stephanie and Derek Duke, Shane and Gina Martin; cousins Jesse (Sarah) Martin, Jeremy Martin, Maddy Martin, Chelsey White; and a multitude of devoted extended family and friends. Tyler had a pure heart and a contagious smile, and he will never be forgotten. To his family, he will be remembered as a wonderful, respectful son and the greatest brother someone could have. To his friends, he will always be that smiling face that could cheer you up on your worst day. To his coaches and other players, he was a supportive teammate who always put the needs of his team above his own. Tyler loved baseball, football, hunting, and Alabama sports. Obituary: Martin, Terry J. age 63 of Mobile, AL passed away, morning, 27 in his home, surrounded by family he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, J. Frank Martin, Sr. and a son, SSG Thomas W. Gardner. He is survived by his adoring wife, Julie McAleer Martin; loving children, Jason (Jennifer) Martin, Jeremy (Sara) Martin, Jacqueline Gardner; daughter-in-law, Tamie Gardner; mother, Anna Louise Martin; brother, John (Wanda) Martin Jr; sister, Vickie (Chris) Rutledge; 9 grandchildren, Samantha, Anna, Jordan, Thomas, Lilly, Ansley, Sophia, Laney, and Thomas Wesley. Terry was born in Mobile, AL and graduated from Murphy High School in 1969. He furthered his education at the University of South Alabama and graduated in 1977 with an accounting degree. Throughout his career he worked as a comptroller at several organizations, most recently retiring as CFO of Endura Acute . Terry enjoyed spending time outdoors with his friends and family. He was a member of Tinker Coon hunting and fishing camp for many years. He loved spending time with his wife, working in their yard. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. Visitation will be from 11:00-12:00 at Southern Heritage in Pelham, AL. Chapel service will begin at 12:00 pm with burial at Southern Heritage . In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to: Overlook Presbyterian Church where Terry spent time as a deacon and elder (5311 Overlook Rd. Mobile, AL 36618). Terry will forever be remembered by those who loved him for his strength and determination in the face of adversity, his quick wit, his contagious smile, and his deep love and devotion for his wife and family. |
