Obituary: Ellen Catherine Manning Martin, age 91. Passed away after a brief illness on 21, 2011 in Newnan, GA. Born on 20, 1919 in Montgomery, AL, she was the daughter of Robert Emmett Manning, Sr. and Annie Louise Vortisch Manning. Catherine grew up in Montgomery, graduating from Saint Mary of Loretto School in 1937. She met John Warren Martin during World War II and married him on 12, 1944. many moves as an Air Force wife, she settled back in Montgomery in 1966. She lived the remainder of her life (with the exception of the last few months) in Montgomery, a faithful member of Saint Bede Parish. She is predeceased by her parents, husband John W. Martin, Sr; sisters, Mary Louise Manning; Marie Manning Whitson, and brother, Eugene Francis Manning. Survivors include her brothers Robert Emmett Manning, Jr. (Frances), Montgomery, AL, and William Frederick Monk Manning (Sara), Lillian, AL; sister-in-law, Mary Ethel Manning, Montgomery, AL; sons, John W. Martin, Jr. (Mari Ann), Casper, WY; Thomas E. Martin (Brinda), Newnan, GA; Robert C. Brandy graduated from Indian Springs School and earned his college degree from Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro. He enjoyed a career in ministry with 180 Degrees Ministries. Brandys passions included his three precious children and his loving parents, music, hiking, reading, learning, and Alabama Crimson Tide football. His late grandparents were Edward Paul Jones and Ruby Thrash Jones, and Parker Martin and Elizabeth Dennis Martin. Survivors include Brandys daughter, Noelle; two sons, Parker and Evan; parents, Roy and Charlotte Martin of Pelham; aunts, Margie Martin of Pelham and Marge Martin of Jacksonville, Florida; uncle, Roger Jones of Pelham; several cousins; numerous friends, and Steve Austin and the team of 180 Degrees Ministries.
