Obituary: Martha McLean Morgan, age 94, died , 1, 2014 at the Brian at Reddman Road. Born on 12, 1919 in Iredell , she was a daughter of late L.G. McLean and Jessie Howard McLean. Mrs. Morgan was a graduate of Statesville High School and Carolina Business School and served in the Army Air Force during World War II. She retired from Carolina Transfer & Storage after forty one years of service. Mrs. Morgan was a long time member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00AM, , 5th , at McEwen Service at Sharon Memorial Park with Rev. Sara R. Ilderton, St. Lukes Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment with U.S. Air Force military honors will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. A catered reception in the funeral home will follow the burial. Mrs. Morgan is survived by nieces, nephews and four sister-in-laws. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, John W. Morgan and a sister, Helen Franz. Obituary: Marianna Morgan, died peacefully at home on 13 in Pfafftown, North Carolina at the age of 87. She is survived by her husband, Max Morgan. Marianna is also survived by her daughter, Paula Bowlin and husband Geoff from Kernersville, NC, and her son Rocky Morgan and his wife Rebecca from Pfafftown, NC; grandchildren are Jay Garber and wife Julia, of Kernersville, NC, Anna Hayward and husband Geoff of Kernersville, and Sarah Irvin and husband Alex of Siloam, NC. She is also survived by two great grandchildren, Max Garber and Greg Hayward. Marianna was born on May 15, 1928 in Mt. Airy, NC to Paul and Anna Worth. She graduated from Meredith in 1949 with a degree in Biology. She married Max Morgan, her college sweetheart and a textile engineer, in 1949. Her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren remember a kind, gentle and fun loving woman who enriched their lives greatly. Marianna was an accomplished quilter and won many awards for her craft. She was a generous southern lady who loved sports and was passionate about the Atlanta Braves and the UNC Tarheel basketball team. She was an active and dedicated member of the Quilting Friends Bee and a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Winston Salem. A memorial service is scheduled for , 16, at 11:00 A.M. in the Reynolda Chapel at the Frank Vogler and Sons , 2951 Reynolda Road. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marianna's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hospice and Palliative , 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem North Carolina, 27103. The family would like to thank the members of the Quilting Friends Bee and the staff of Hospice for helping us care for our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother during her final months. |

Obituary: Margaret "Peggy" Dawn Turner Morgan, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on , May 5, 2017, at Carolinas Medical -Pineville, surrounded by her loving and supportive family. She was 89 years old. Born 15, 1927, in Roanoke, Virginia, Peggy was the daughter of the late Oscar Morris Turner and Bessie Arnn Turner. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Joseph Papa Joe Allen Morgan. Peggy was a member of Albemarle Road Presbyterian Church. She will be remembered for love of family, friends, and her church community. Peggy truly enjoyed big band era music and alking, talking. She was such a cheerful and loving person to be around. Everyone loved her dry wit and the sassy twinkle in her eye. Peggy had a sincere interest in everyone she met and always looked for and found the good in others. In addition to her parents and husband, Peggy was preceded in death by her brother, Leonard Arnn, and sister, Audrey Turner. She leaves behind her children, Connie Morgan Parker and husband, Vann Parker, Cathy Morgan Schneider and husband, Paul Schneider, and J. Alan Morgan and wife, Sandra Hill Morgan; grandchildren, Ginny Parker Woods and husband, John Woods, Ann Parker McKeehon and husband, Robert McKeehon, Cory Brian Schneider, Nathan Morgan Schneider, and Dara Schneider Berkwits and husband, Jess Berkwits; and great-grandchildren, Nina Woods, Teddy Woods, Helen McKeehon, Frances McKeehon and Jacob Berkwits. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation and reception with the family from 5:00 until 7:00 evening, May 9, at McEwen Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill, with a funeral service to immediately follow at 7:00 in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Ron Tippens will officiate. A private graveside service will be held , in Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem, Virginia.
