Obituary: Platt Duke Moody Jr., 96 died , 24, 2010 at Hospice and Palliative in Winston-Salem, NC. Mr. Moody was born 3, 1914 to the late Platt Duke and Florence Corriher Moody. He was also preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, LaRue C. Moody; three brothers Fred J. Moody, Hubert C. Moody, and Harold J. Moody. Surviving family includes daughter Linda M. Baucom of Clemmons, NC, daughter and son in law Betty M. and Carlton C. Alexander of Hoffman, NC; grandchildren Angie Baucom of Roswell, GA and Marty Baucom of Lexington, NC; a number of nieces and nephews; and many friends. Mr. Moody graduated from Central High School in Charlotte. He retired from Cadmus (Washburn Printing ) after thirty seven years. He was a lifelong member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Charlotte, where he printed all church materials from 1957 to 2008. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners. A Service, celebrating the Life of Platt D. Moody, will be conducted at Calvary United Methodist Church, 512 West Boulevard, Charlotte, NC (704-333-3388), at Noon on , (12/29). The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Reverend Melita Padilla will officiate and interment will follow at Forest Lawn , Charlotte. Mr. Moody, also known by his grandchildren and many friends as "Pete", was a devoted family man and a wonderful son, brother, and uncle. He was caring and gentle to his wife, children, and grandchildren. He never said no to anyone that needed help and was always there for everyone. Obituary: Phillip Lawrence Moody, 84, passed away evening, May 11, 2015 at Rex care. He was born 20, 1930 in Wake to the late Robert Leroy Moody and Ruby Medlin Moody. Phillip graduated from Rolesville High School in 1949 and married Mildred Boyette 17, 1955. He retired from IBM after 27 years of dedicated service. retirement he continued to farm and was known for his sweet potatoes and watermelons. He was a devoted member of Bethany Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon, Chairman of the Deacons and his important responsibility as taker of the cemetery, making sure all graves were correctly marked. His knowledge will be greatly missed. service 11:00 am, , May 15, 2015 at Bethany Baptist Church, 3417 Rolesville Rd., Wendell, 27591. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Obituary: Waynesville-Mildred A. Moody, 83, died on 1, 2016, at The stead surrounded by her loving family. Mildred was born in Jackson , North Carolina, on 25, 1933, to the late Ennice and Bertha Hooper Thompson. Mildred enjoyed her roses and watching Braves baseball. She retired from Family Dollar after 40 years of faithful service where she was affectionately known as “Milly”. In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Moody; three sisters, Gladys Wilson, Lou Thompson, Frances Turpin; and two brothers, Gene and Roy Thompson Mildred is survived by three daughters, Judy Wyatt and her husband Henry, Patricia Miller and her husband Ricky, and Tammy Mills; brother, Clarence Thompson and his wife Shirley; and her sister, Eliza Mae Evans; grandchildren, Stephanie Shew and her husband Adam, Kevin Miller and his wife Hannah, Amanda Mills; and her great-grandsons, Jackson and Jase Shew. services will be held at 2:00 PM on , 5, in the chapel of Garrett s and Cremations with the Reverend Frank Wyatt and the Reverend Johnny Passmore officiating.
