Obituary: Gaynelle McSorley 1939 - 2021 Gastonia - Gaynelle (Gaybabe) Benton Wilkinson McSorley, 81, went to be with Jesus on , 27, 2021. She was born in Lowell, NC on 2, 1939 and was the daughter of the late Ralph Benton Wilkinson and Mattie Mae Story Wilkinson. She was a wonderful and devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all who had the privilege to know her. Gaynelle retired after 25 years of service with the United States Postal Service and retired as Post Master in Cliffside, North Carolina and worked for 13 years with US Airway after her retirement. She is a member of West Cramerton Baptist Church where she was very active and regularly volunteered in many church events. She was an independent, positive, strong Lady. Gaynelle is survived by her son, James Andrew Andy McSorley; son-in-law, Mark Brendle; 3 grandchildren, Solomon James Brendle, Anna Michelle Brendle, Brittany Benton Brendle ; 3 great grandchildren, Bailey Corrine Brendle, Malachi Andrew Messer, Arterious Deshawn Leach; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive family and friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. , 30, 2021 at West Cramerton Baptist Church, 5006 Wilkinson Boulevard, Cramerton, North Carolina with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. , 30, 2021 at West Cramerton Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Ivey. Interment will follow in the Mark I Section of Gaston Memorial Park with the Releasing of the Doves. Gaynelle was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Karen Brendle; brother, Donald Wilkinson; two sisters, Bennie Sue Dale, Peggy Wilkinson. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to West Cramerton Baptist Church, P.O. Box 368, Cramerton, North Carolina 28032.
