Obituary: Catherine Laffredi McDowell, born 2-22-N.Y.B. in Waukegan, Illinois, died ( 28, 2009) at Forsyth Medical , Winston-salem, NC. Mrs. McDowell retired as Manager of the Clemmons KFC after twenty four years with Kentucky Fried Chicken. Mrs. McDowell was a graduate of the Zion-Benton Twp. High School. She was a strong and faithful supporter of her children and grandchildrens sports and activities. Cathy was a very patriotic lady and proud to be an American. Mrs. McDowell was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Jennie (Brock) Laffredi; and brothers Jimmy and Robert Laffredi. Surviving family includes her husband of fifty four years and high school sweetheart, Robert J. McDowell; Children Scott and his wife Susan Lynn McDowell, Cathy, Jim and his wife Pam; Grandchildren Emily and Kelly Sale, Brock McDowell, Kayla, Jim, and Grace McDowell; Step Grandchildren Van and Hannah Sykes, Sarah Adams; Brothers Joseph, Louis, Thomas and his wife Shari; many nieces and nephews. The family will visit with their friends on , 3, 2009, from 7:00 PM until the Memorial Service, Celebrating her life, on 8:00 PM at the Vogler & Sons , 2849 Middlebrook Drive, Clemmons, NC 27012 The family prefers, if you wish, contributions to the American Cancer Society or a local Veteran Service Organization of your choice. arrangements are under the direction of the Vogler & Sons , A Dignity Memorial provider. |
