Obituary: Jeanette Oliver McBee, 80, passed away on , May 13, 2016 at Beacon Place. She was born on 22, 1935 in Guilford , the daughter of Javie and Virginia Gardner Oliver. Jeanette was a lifelong member of Christ Wesleyan Church and served as the church organist for over 40 years. She worked as a bookkeeper with SPANCO Industries until her retirement. Jeanette was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She will be deeply missed. Jeanette is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Archie McBee of the home; daughter, Dawn McBee Saunders and husband David of Pawleys Island, SC and son, Dayn Clinton McBee and wife Suzanne of Cary, NC; grandchildren, Lauren McBee Ciampa and husband Michael, Taylor Dayn McBee, Stuart Morgan Saunders and Kelly Savannah Saunders; sister, Barbara Oliver Jessee and brother, Javie Lee Oliver and numerous nieces and nephews. Jeanette was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Luther Oliver. services will be held on , 2:00 pm at Christ Wesleyan Church with burial to follow at Guilford Memorial Park. Officiating will be Rev. Jonathan Lewis and Rev. Keith Carroll. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on at the church. Obituary: Audrey Jean Rollins McBarnette was born on 14, 1928 in Jamaica, New York to Reuben and Waple Rollins. When Audrey was 4 years old, her father passed away and her mother Waple became a single, hardworking mother raising Audrey, sister Loretta Mable and brother Reuben Brother. Flirty Eyes, as she was affectionately called, grew up in Jamaica, New York and attended public schools there, later receiving her Undergraduate and Graduate degrees at Hunter in Manhattan. Armed with her mothers hard work ethic, Audrey had many careers over her lifetime including working as a Phlebotomy lab tech, sales rep for World Book Encyclopedia, social worker for the department of welfare and her ultimate calling as an educator. She was deemed one of the most popular elementary school teachers in her St. Albans community and was loved by many students who tracked her down and visited during the summers. Audrey met and fell in love with Wilfred Havelock McBarnette who was working at her sister Lorettas travel agency in Hollis, New York. married on 7, 1954 and were blessed with two daughters, Kim and Leslie. made their home in St. Albans, New York when the girls were young and then moved to Westbury, Long Island before eventually relocating to Cary, North Carolina in 2007. Audrey had many interests and loved painting, sewing, quilting and cooking. One of her unique talents was to come up with hrow together recipes. If asked for the ingredients she would laugh and say, Whatever I found in the fridge! Her love of opera prompted her to start attending and eventually subscribing as a season ticket holder to the Metropolitan Opera with a group of her friends. As a treat she often attended with her daughters who were fueled by these experiences and later pursued music careers of their own. Her love of children also led her to be a Girl Scout leader for many years. Audrey and Freddie loved to travel and they vacationed in the Caribbean, Alaska, and Hawaii, Ghana and throughout the United States. Camping was a favorite vacation for the family and they drove through many states usually hauling a pop-up camper, kids, relatives, friends and sometimes pets. Audrey had a passion for the game of Tournament Bridge and she and Freddie belonged to the ABA and ABCL Duplicate Bridge Clubs. won many trophies and awards, sometimes beating the more advanced players at tournaments throughout the East Coast. also enjoyed mentoring and teaching elementary school students to play bridge to help them strengthen their math skills. Audrey Jean McBarnette departed this life on , 31, 2015. She leaves to celebrate and cherish her memory: her daughters Kim Demery and Leslie Carter, son-in-laws Kenny Demery and Edward Carter Jr., granddaughter Karla Demery, sister-in-law Geraldine Rollins, nephew Dean Rollins, nieces Judy Bigby and Muriel Kathleen Rollins, in-laws Ann and Edward Carter Sr., Bernadett and Gerald Carter and a host of family and friends. A visitation will be held on , 5, 2015 from 3:00pm-5:00pm followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 5:00pm at Brown-Wynne 200 S.E Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511.
