Obituary: Henry Morgan Melvin passed away May 31, 2017 at the age of 82 after a valiant 2-1/2 year struggle with pancreatic cancer. His passing was peaceful and his family was at his side. He was born 12, 1934 in Elmira, New York to Samuel Gerard Melvin and Gladys Morgan Melvin. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara Staples Melvin and his son Shawn Melvin (Tanya) of Grass Lake, Michigan. Also by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ken and Marianna Staples, nieces Kecia Graham and Tidra Staples and nephew Trevor Staples, 6 grand nieces and nephews and several cousins in New York state. He was preceded in death by his parents and his niece Sloane Elizabeth Staples. Hank arrived in Milan Michigan as an infant and attended Milan Schools, graduating from Milan High School in 1952 and from Cleary with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1956. He worked for King-Seeley for 12 years. Barbara and Hank met when they both worked at King-Seeley in Ann Arbor. married in 1968. Shawn was born in 1971. Hank began working for Spartan Electronics in Jackson, Michigan in 1971 and worked there until 1999, in various positions including Controller of Finance and Government Contract Negotiator, spending the 90s in their DeLeon Springs Florida Division. He traveled to Sparton divisions in Grand Junction, Colorado; London, Ontario; Brownstown, Indiana and Crystal River, Florida. Hank played football and basketball in high school and college. He was an accomplished bowler winning American Bowling Congress League Team Championships in 1962-63, 1967-68, and 1970-71. He was an avid Detroit Tigers and U of M Football fan. Hank was an all-around nice guy. A loving husband and father, valued employee and constant friend. . He lived a full life, always trying to do the right thing. He was always there for family members in need. He will be sorely missed. Services will be held 3, 1 p.m. at the Salvation Army Church on Huron Street (corner of Arbana) Ann Arbor. Donations may be made in Hanks memory to the Salvation Armys Staples Family , the Michael J. Obituary: Greg Melvin, age 49, passed away 8, 2016, after a courageous battle with liver cancer. He was born May 6, 1967, in Kalamazoo, the son of Gary and Joan Melvin. He grew up in Martin and graduated from Martin High School and received a BS Degree in 1989 from Central Michigan University. He married his college sweetheart, Lisa Pileri on 16, 1990. He completed his MBA in 2013, while fighting cancer. Greg, a devoted family man, loved his wife and children dearly and planned many family outings and activities to be with them. hiked, biked, took trips, or just had an ice cream cone-anything for fun and adventure. Diagnosed with cancer five years ago, life took on a new urgency for him as he was hospitalized, received treatments, raised his family, and continued to work. His zest for living and determination to live life at its fullest were testimonials to those who loved him. Greg enjoyed sports, but especially golfing with his friends from around the state. He had a sense of humor and magnetism that drew life-long friends who loved and supported him in his life journey. He had a rewarding career in employee communications in hospitals, banks, and healthcare; most recently at Terumo Cardiovascular, where he was the Senior Marketing Communications Specialist. He was a former board member of IABC (International Association of Business Communicator), and president of Interchange, a West Michigan Communications group. He also served as Elder at Peace Lutheran Church. Greg is survived by his wife, Lisa, and children, Christine, Sam, Courtney, and Katrina Melvin. His parents, Joan and Gary Melvin of Kalamazoo, his sister Diane Melvin of Plainwell and his nephew, Joshua Melvin. Along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. Visitation will be held at Peace Lutheran Church (8260 Jackson Rd, Ann Arbor) on , 14, 2016, from 4-8 pm and , 15, 2016, from 10-11 am. Celebration of Life services will also be held at Peace Lutheran on , 15, 2016, at 11:00 am. Memorials may be made to Peace Lutheran Church for Gregs family or Arbor Hospice. An additional Celebration of Gregs Life will be held on , 18, 2016, at Martin United Methodist Church, Martin, Michigan from 12-2 pm with a light lunch served at noon and a time to remember Greg with memories from his family and friends from 1-2 pm. Obituary: Charles Andrew Meluch of Okemos, was born 3, 1980 in Madison, WI. He passed away on 9, 2016 at the age of 36. His family, his cat Norman and his many friends, meant everything to him. He was a loyal, generous, funny, loving, helpful, hardworking young man with a heart of gold. He didn't accept praise well and would probably be quite astonished at the outpouring of love from his friends on social media. He loved riding his bicycle, particularly if he could get dirty in the process. A passionate MSU and Red Wings fan, he was also a terrific cook who especially enjoyed creating his own recipes. Charles is survived by his father George Meluch (Heather), his mother Carolyn Tobin (Edward), his brother Thomas Meluch (Brittany), his half-sisters Ava and Anna Meluch, his step-sister Jamie Fitzpatrick (William) and step-brother Mark Tobin (Emily). Memorial services will be held on , 26 at 3:00 pm at the Gorsline Runciman s, 1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to comfort us. We are especially moved by the number of media postings from his friends and the perfectly wonderful thoughts and memories they have shared.
