Obituary: Eileen Agnes McCullough, age 88, died , 20, 2016 at St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren. Eileen was born 25, 1927 in Detroit, daughter of the late Charles and the late Katherine (nee: Kingston) Holliday. In her younger years, Eileen was employed by the automotive giant, the Chrysler Corporation. Along with the job responsibilities that kept her busy, it was the company softball team that made her work experience special. Possessing vast athletic abilities, she managed to bring her competitive spirit to the ballpark each and every time. Yet softball didn end up being the only enefit that Eileen took away from the job,…for it was there that she met the man who became her soulmate & husband, William. meeting her beau and beginning their relationship, her days on the job soon became history. She was now ready to begin a new chapter in life,…that of a wife and mother. And so it was that these two lovebirds promised themselves in marriage, enjoyed the blessing of 5 beautiful children, and grew deeper in love with each passing day. Along with Eileens softball memories, another of her sporting pleasures was enjoyed with her fellow keglers down at the bowling alley. There was always loads of fun in sharing the competition and camaraderie amidst tossing balls, and a little bull, in the small circle around the ball return. As for a bit of sports watching, nothing could beat the entertainment and enjoyment she experienced when it came to her treasured boys of summer, the Detroit Tigers. When it came to fan support, there was nobody greater than Eileen in their devotion for the team. When all of the family and household concerns were met, Eileen enjoyed a number of varied pastimes and hobbies. Together with her mother, the two poured their own brand of TLC into raising canaries. As for another source of sharing her TLC, that could easily be found in her garden. She possessed both a green thumb and a farmers heart when it came to her gardening skills,…and it showed. Another of Eileens passions was found in the joy of Christmas and having the opportunity of sharing its splendor with family and friends alike. She was especially excited that it provided her the opportunity of displaying her treasured Santa Claus decorations. There was never a doubt that Christmas is when Eileens heart, and holiday decoration, shined the most. Eileen will also be remembered for the skills and talents of her hands, as evidenced in the many works of art Eileen created through needlepoint and crocheting, and also the intricate details she poured into the doilies and doll dresses her talents produced,…some of which were created to share with the charitable organization, the Goodfellows. But of all pastimes Eileen enjoyed, little could match the passion she held for her daily soap operas. It was one of the most special times of day, getting the chance of catching up on the daily activities and occurrences of her various stories. Yet amidst all that TV watching, her family reflects that it wasn all about lying around and eating bon-bons. were always amazed at how much work she could get done during the commercial breaks. It was the perfect blend of hard work ethics and a little television enjoyment. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister to 5 siblings, Eileen surely knew the definition of love and shared it without measure. Moments and memories with family were the most precious of all, especially when it came to her cherished grandchildren. were both the light of her world, and the source of youthfulness that permeated her soul. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever be embraced with each reflection shared, She will be missed immensely and loved eternally. Eileen was preceded in death by the love of her life, William, and her two sons, Blaine and William II. She was the loving and devoted mother of Diane (Gordon) Nieman, Glenn (Cheryl) McCullough, Marc McCullough, the late Blaine McCullough, and the late William McCullough II. She was the beloved mother-in-law of MaryLou McCullough, and the loving sister of Charles (Gloria) Holliday, and Delbert Holliday. Eileen is also survived by her 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Visitation for Eileen will be held on , 23rd from 3 - 9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons , 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. Her Service will be conducted , 11:00 am at the funeral home. Obituary: McCullough, Barbara Lou 73, died , 9, 2016 at her Jackson home with family by her side. Barb was born on 10, 1942 in Jackson, Michigan to Bernie and Elsie Skinner, both of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by a loving family including but not limited to her sons, Craig (Melinda) McCullough and Scott (Tracy) McCullough; her brother, Don (Connie) Skinner of Portland; four grandchildren, Morgan, Mason, Madison, and Nicholas and countless friends and neighbors, all of whom she dearly treasured. She embodied a spirit that rarely failed to light up a room and will be sadly missed by all those who knew her. Obituary: Mary Ann Ciko McCulloch died peacefully on May 17, 2015. This obituary is not about her death, but rather her wonderful life and the numerous people she has touched and inspired over the years. Mary Ann was born 25, 1948, to the most loving parents in the world, John and Mary ( ine) Ciko. Her and her brother, John Jr., grew up on Andover Street, located on the north side of Detroit, Michigan, during the innocent 1950s. Like every other girl, Mary Ann twirled hula-hoops, played with bride dolls and rode her bike everywhere. At a very young and tender age, she met her first love, music. She practiced every day with glee and with much determination. Her instruction with increasingly more accomplished teachers led her to the steps of Cass Technical High School (Class of 1966) and their Music Program. It was at Cass Tech she met the love of her life, her chemistry teacher, Bernard J. McCulloch. Mary Ann went on to study at the University Of Michigan School of Music. She graduated with honors earning her Bachelor of Music Degree in May of 1970, focusing on Music Education. Her first full time position was a music teacher with the Wayne-Westland School District. Mary Ann married the love of her life, Bernard, on May 13, 1972, at Holy Ghost Russian Orthodox Church, Detroit, Michigan. Mary Anns brother, John Jr., and his wife, Patricia McHugh Ciko, were the Best Man and Matron of Honor at the ceremony. On 6, 1974, their son, Mark Hugh McCulloch was born. Six months after Marks birth, they moved into their home on Archwood Drive in Ann Arbor, where both Mary Ann and Bernard lived until their deaths. Mary Ann was a devoted mother and wife, where she took care of matters on the home front until Mark went to elementary school full time. It was then Mary Ann decided to make a career change. She returned to the University of Michigan, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in in of 1983, and a Master of Science in Psychiatric-Mental in of 1985. Mary Ann became a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan, and worked for the Ann Arbor Public Schools for eighteen years. She retired from AAPS in 2004 to focus full time on her passion, teaching music. Mary Ann taught piano lessons from her home to both children and adults, until three weeks before her death. She instructed many enthusiastic and talented young students over the years in the beauty and joys of piano. Mary Ann was also a full time member and past President of the Ann Arbor Alumni Chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon Music Fraternity. Mary Ann traveled the world and saw most of Europe with her late husband. She also traveled to most of the islands in the Caribbean Sea, the Holy Land of Israel in 2011, and Africa in 2011 (Tanzania) with a return visit in 2014 (South Africa, Zambia and Botswana). Mary Ann was a woman of strong faith. She was a devoted parishioner to St. Vladimir Orthodox Church in Ann Arbor, where she served various roles on the Church Board and cherished singing in the choir. Mary Ann is survived by her son, Mark Hugh McCulloch (Jennifer); grand-daughters Emily and Megan (lovingly referred to as her angels); her dear brother John and his sweet Patricia; her nephews John (Tawni) and Nicholas (Elizabeth) Ciko. Mary Ann refused to be defined by the cancer she battled for many years. Rather, she lived life to the fullest, and never took for granted the beauties and wonders God created on this earth. Although Mary Ann is gone, this is only an intermission. She will greet all of her friends and family just inside the Eastern Gate with open arms and love. Until we meet again my friends. I love each of you, with all my heart, forever. |
