To Mom from Randy Mom loved so many things and so many people. The people, well you most likely know who you are, but I can touch on that after. So the things, where do I start? Well, here we go. She loved cooking, and making a pasta dinner had to be her favorite (and ours too!) She loved sports, mostly watching her grandchildren standout in their respective ones. She loved going with Terri and Kate before Christmas, her special Family Day invitation in hand. She loved her pool (not the deep end) and the more people the better. And let it be known, she was a world class dog paddler. She loved a high quality yard stick; you know the kind that has good weight to it. Dads car always had to have that special looking grill on the front. And dinner at Bellevue could never be missed. Although my Dad and I are true dog people, I believe my Mom was a secret dog lover-right, Malcolm, Shadow, and Cody (Sorry Roxie you are going to miss out on her love). She and my Dad loved to watch high def television on low def channels. Grrrr. She always loved to sit in the sun, and I am talking about a sick passion. Maybe it was a secret sisterly competition with Auntie Olgie. If it was Id call it a tie! She also loved those beady eyes of hers. Only a special group of us knew of these, and what they meant. Don talk bad about my Dad or BANG!! youd get The Eyes. And dishes, holy cow did she love to do the dishes. All the way to the end, she would be in someones sink doing the dishes. She loved any patio umbrella from M&M. She loved her afternoon stories, or soaps, most likely on channel 4 not channel 804. Grrr. And lets not forget about a GOOD cup of tea, the kind with 3 spoonfuls of sugar. Thanks Ma, Ill carry that one on. She loved buying and giving things to all of her seven grandchildren. Yeah, you can call it spoiling them but if thats what she wanted then that is fine by me. And most of her closest family and friends knew she loved to worry. She worried about all others all the time, but never herself. One story that sticks in my mind, and will forever, is when she was in the hospital for a three week stay a few months ago and needed shots in her stomach. I was in her room after she had just gotten one of those shots, and they were not painless. The nurse came back in her room and says Hi, Cindy, that shot wasn that bad was it because I did such a good job giving it to you. My mom smiled a bit and the nurse turned and left. When my mom knew the nurse was out of earshot, she rolled her eyes and grimaced and said You didn do that good of a job! I loved it, it was so Mom. Worry, worry, worry. Let me tell you she is worried about her wake being from 2-6 and us missing the end of this weeks golf tournament on TV. As she got older she loved to sit in the back seat of the car. That is if she needed to get in the car at all. And yes, Malcolm rode shotgun. Lets get back to the people she loved so I can finish up. Family was number one on her list. She loved all of us, from the closest family member (my Dad) to the most distant. If you were related, then she loved you. Her close friends and neighbors were loved so very much also. So many pictures of so many friends that they travelled with and dined with showed me how much she loved them all. If anyone had any doubts that she loved you, well heres a good measuring stick...If you were ever invited inside of 180 Forest Street, then you were loved. And if she ever spent more than 7 minutes in a car to get to your house for a visit then you e on the list too. Say hi to everyone up there that you have missed. Enjoy your next journey in life and remember if you are looking down on all of us from above, that is not a motorcycle I am on, its just me running really fast. |
