Obituary: Thomas F Tom McEnaney of Lynn passed away on 18, 2014 surrounded by his family after a brief illness. Tom shared 55 years of marriage with his devoted wife Shirley. He was a long time educator, Catholic lay volunteer and pet lover. Born in Lynn, Massachusetts on 10, 1934, Tom was the son of the late John J. McEnaney, originally of Monaghan, Ireland, and the late Margaret (Fahey) McEnaney, originally from Tuam, Ireland. He attended St Marys High School, and graduated from Lynn English in 1953. He received both a Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Education from Salem State . Tom had a successful 40 year career as an educator, primarily in the Lynnfield Public Schools. He began his career as an English teacher and track coach for the North Reading school system. several years, he moved to the Lynnfield school system, beginning as an elementary school teacher, and later becoming a Guidance Counselor at Lynnfield Jr High School (later named Lynnfield Middle School). Tom served the youth and community of Lynnfield for over 35 years as a guidance counselor, retiring in 1996. In addition, he taught Psychology for many years as an Associate Professor at North Shore Community , where he also help to develop their first certificate program for training Education Para Professionals/Teachers Aids. Beyond his public education career, Tom also worked part time for over 20 years for Filenes at the North Shore Shopping in Peabody. He served as the night manager there for his entire tenure with the company, charming both customers and associates alike with his quick wit and skill at customer relations. Tom was active in local Catholic churches, serving for many years as a lay reader and CCD Director at St Francis of Assisi parish in Lynn. Recently a regular parishioner at St Pius V, Tom served as a Eucharistic Minister for the Catholic faith at Union Hospital. Involved for a number of years in Lynn politics, Tom served as campaign manager for the Mayoral campaigns of both Pasquale Patsy Caggiano and Vincent Vinny McManus. He also ran unsuccessfully for City Council. Through the years, Tom participated and led a variety of Lynn community organizations, including serving as President in the 1970s of the Greater Lynn Mental Association (now called Bridgewell) and President of the Lynn Public Schools Band Boosters. He also was a member of the Lynn Community Development Council. Tom is a veteran of the Massachusetts National Guard, where he served honorably for nine years in the 1950s. In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by his son John T. McEnaney and his partner Cathy Vaucher of Swampscott, his daughter Kelly DAmbrosio and her husband Domenic of Lynn. He is also survived by his grandsons Thomas P. and Brendan C. McEnaney both of Swampscott, his sister Mary Tirabassi, and nephews Jimmy Tirabassi and David Tirabassi of Peabody. Tom was also the uncle to the late Kevin Tirabassi of Peabody. A devoted pet owner, having a number of dogs, cats, and one rabbit over the years, Tom is survived by his cat Anna and dog Little Bits. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Church in Swampscott Congregational, 40 Monument Ave, SWAMPSCOTT on , 4, 2014 at 11:00AM. Relatives and friends invited. Obituary: Hyde Park – Ms. Alice Jeanne McEnaney, of Hyde Park, formerly of Waltham, died , 5, 2015 in the New England Sinai Hospital Rehabilitation at Carney Hospital in Boston. She was 71. Jeanne was born in Newton on 9, 1944, a daughter of the late John and Margaret (Hynes) McEnaney and lived most of her life in Waltham and in Hyde Park. She recently retired from Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham where she made life-long friendships. She graduated from Saint Marys High School in Waltham and Boston State . Jeanne was an elementary school teacher for many years. She loved sports and played basketball and softball in high school and college and she loved to bowl. Jeanne was a coach for the girls high school basketball team at Saint Marys High School in Brookline. She enjoyed traveling to various parts of Maine in the summer, especially to York Beach. Jeanne loved to spend time with her nieces and nephews as well as her grandnieces and grandnephew. She took a regular interest in their school and sporting events. She had a contagious laugh that will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her dear friend, Peg McDonough of Hyde Park; her siblings, John McEnaney of Charleston South Carolina, Eileen McEnaney of Hyde Park, Thomas McEnaney and his wife, Jean, of Sunderland,MA and Carol Cote of York, Maine; her nieces and nephew and their families, Debi McEnaney of Sunderland and her daughters, Madison and Tori Bowen; Laura Valk and her husband, Eli, of Princeton and their children, Hayley and Reggie Valk; John McEnaney and his wife, Kristen, of Marlborough and their daughters, Anna Cate and Hallie McEnaney; Karyn Cote and her husband, Dylan Gallagher, of Saco, Maine and Michelle Cote and her friend, Ron Largy, of Litchfield, New Hampshire. Obituary: Daniel N. McEnaney 54 years old of Orleans passed away on 14, 2016 surrounded by love. Dan was stricken with Cholangiocarcinoma in of 2016, and everyone who knew him was devastated. Born the third of seven children to Norman F. McEnaney and Nancy F. McEnaney (Miramant), he attended St. Marys School in North Attleboro, MA and Bishop Feehan in Attleboro, MA before moving with his family to Brewster, MA in 1978. Dan graduated from Nauset Regional High School in 1980 and was proud to be a member of the 1979 State Championship Soccer Team. An avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt , fish, ski, surf and mountain bike, Dan had an amazing life and lived it to the fullest. His motto was no regrets. In 1989 Dan married the love of his life, Margaret Elizabeth Mead and they settled in North Scituate, RI, where they were the happy parents of four beautiful children. In 1999, Dan and Margy moved their young family back to Cape Cod settling in Orleans to be near family and to enjoy the outer cape lifestyle. In 2004 Dan convinced Margy to become entrepenural business partners, they bought a fitness business in Hyannis, and Cape Cod Fitness was born. The partnership flourished over the years and in 2014 Margy and Dan became the owners of a second Fitness Business Osterville Fitness in Osterville, MA. Dan loved the freedom of being his own boss it allowed him to be present at all of his childrens sporting events, both as a coach and a fan. Dan also loved traveling the open road and took to it many times over the years in an 18 wheeler, always keeping his CDL current. He loved to tell the stories of the places he went and the people he met along the way. Danny loved his life, his friends, his family, and his way of doing things. However, that never stopped him from taking time to listen to others with his generous, open heart. We will all remember the laughter and the slapping of his knee because Danny loved to laugh, and to make others laugh along with him. His unique energy could change any room he entered and influenced everyone around him. Obituary: Barbara McElwee, 92, died peacefully at her home in Wayland, MA on May 25, surrounded by her family and dogs. Barbara enjoyed a long life, one full of love, learning, and adventure. Born in Winchester, MA. Barbara, and her four sisters, fondly known as "the Sullivan girls," grew up in Melrose. She graduated from Melrose High School in 1941. Barbara married John G. (Jack) McElwee in 1952. settled in Winchester, where they raised their family and enjoyed town activities. Barbara and Jack treasured their 47 years together before Jack's passing in 1997. Barbara's many hobbies included reading biographies, writing children's stories, gardening, sketching, traveling, Bible study, fashion, piano, and tennis. As a young adult, she dedicated herself to the needs of physically and emotionally challenged children, spending countless hours volunteering at the Joseph P. Kennedy Hospital. While nurturing her growing family, Barbara advocated for greater educational and social inclusion for neurologically challenged children. She studied the Laubach Literacy method, then taught English to immigrant children and adults. A quiet philanthropist, Barbara's passion for helping others never waned. In recent years, she developed a keen interest in microfinance initiatives for women. At the time of her death, she was a dedicated supporter of KIVA, Smile Train, and a sponsor of many children through World Vision. Her friends and family will fondly recall Barbara's compassion, creativity, humor, and generosity. Barbara is survived by her twin sister, Jeanette Mead of Melrose, three of her five children, and six grandchildren: Janet McElwee Grzelcyk, her husband Steve, and daughter Molly of Tewksbury, MA, Sheila McElwee, her husband Robert Hillman, and children, Sarah, Jon and Ali of Wayland, MA, and Brian McElwee, his wife Marion, and children Brooke and Jack of Newfields, N.H., and nineteen nieces and nephews. Barbara's sisters, Pauline Sullivan, Margaret Bergman and Audrey Baier, and her children Jack McElwee Jr., and Neal McElwee, predeceased her. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at Sheila and Robert Hillman's home, 5 Apache Trail, Wayland, MA on , 1, from 6-8 pm.
