Obituary: Elma E. Martin, 78 of Dermott, AR, passed away , 10, 2015, the John R. Williamson Hospice House. She was born 9, 1936, to Wallace Monroe and Jessie Inez Ward Cooper in Shongaloo, LA. Elma graduated from Shongaloo High School. She married Richard M. Martin on 15, 1967, and she was a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 41 years, Richard M. Martin; and her two sisters, Lannie Ruth Smith and Eloise Burns. Survivors include her three children, Anita Williams of McGhee, AR, Michael Martin of Bella Vista, AR, Connie Martin of Dermott, AR; seven grandchildren, Jason Waxley of Smackover, Jessica Beatty of Hattisburg, MS, Matthew Ausbrooks of Rogers, AR, Michael Martin of Rayne, LA, Ashley Johnson of Jacksonville, AR, Dakota Rial of Dermott, AR, Cooper Martin of Bella Vista, AR; and eight great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. , 14, 2015, at New Ramah in Haynesville, LA under the direction of Youngs Directors with Jason Waxley officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Youngs. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 10403, El Dorado, AR 71730 or to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Obituary: Dorothy Jean (Harbour) Martin, 83, passed away on 23, 2015 at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. a lengthy battle with cancer, she went to be with her Lord and Savior. Dorothy was a Christian and attended various churches. She is survived by one daughter Teresa Kay John and two grandsons Martin and Michael John, three brothers, Herbert Harbour, and spouse Lena, Roy Harbour, Charles Harbour and spouse Julia, and 5 nieces and 3 nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thurman Bruce Harbour and Ophelia Parris Harbour, her husband Ned Gene Martin, one son-in-law Duane Allan John and one brother, Milam Rudy Harbour. She was a loving wife, mother and sister.During her working career she worked for Smackover Drilling/Producing for many years. Her association in this brought her many friends and acquaintances in the oil producing business. She was a very active person, enjoyed traveling to many places, and made new friends wherever she went. One of her favorite hobbies was decorating her homes and keeping her yard in a show place condition. She personally hand-painted her driveway to resemble a real brick driveway. It is still beautiful today. She was a very organized person and it showed by the way she maintained all her belongings. Dorothy was a go-to person. If you had a problem, she would help you arrive at a solution. She was a gracious hostess, sharing her lake house with family and friends. She often helped her brothers by taking them to the Veterans Hospital in Little Rock. Visitation will be , 28, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Youngs Directors. services will be at 10:00AM , 29, 2015 in Youngs Chapel with Rev. Lawrence Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Youngs Directors. -- |
