Obituary: JOHNNIE MAE BROWN McLEOD COX FUNERAL HOME BASTROP, LOUISIANA Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Johnnie Mae Brown McLeod will be held 10:30 a.m. , 18, 2015 at Memorial Park with the Reverend Jim Ingram officiating. Services will be under the direction of Cox of Bastrop. The family will receive friends on , 17th from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Cox of Bastrop. Johnnie Mae McLeod was born in Bastrop, Louisiana on May 18, 1932 to the late John Calvin Brown and Sarah Doss Brown. She passed away peacefully, 14, 2015, at Morehouse General Hospital in Bastrop. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby Dean McLeod; and five siblings, Jessie Carlton Brown, Jewel Marguerite Freeman, Anna Frances Gray, Mary Lela Amorosa, and Ruth Jean Ainsworth. Mrs. McLeod was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bastrop. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, camping, fishing and organizing her high school reunions. She also enjoyed sharing her recipes with others. She wrote a cooking column for the Bastrop Enterprise and had numerous recipes published in several cooking magazines and cookbooks. Mrs. McLeod was proud of her community and active in her church. However, her pride and joy was her family. She was a devoted and loving wife and a loving and supportive mother and grandmother. Mrs. McLeod received great joy sharing and celebrating in her familys accomplishments and her love for each of them was immeasurable. Mrs. McLeod is survived by her daughter, Teresa McLeod of Knoxville, Tennessee; her two sons, Mark Calvin McLeod of Bastrop, Louisiana and Carlton Keith McLeod of Des Moines, Iowa. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Russ David, Reed David, Ryan David, Margo Waller, Mark Calvin McLeod, II, Rebekah McLeod McGowen, and Garrett McLeod; seven great-grandchildren, Anna Lee David, Aspen David, Lylah David, Reagan McGowen, Landon Hal Waller, Luke Pierson Waller, and Lawson Mark Waller; and a brother, James Keith Brown. Serving as pallbearers are Mark Calvin McLeod, II, Jason Waller, Russ David, Reed David, Ryan David, and Garrett McLeod. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Brown and Dale Littleton.
