Interment will follow in Good Hope , Frierson, LA. Visitation will be held on , 8, 2010, between the hours of 7 - 9 PM at From Bondage to Freedom Church. Pastor Jean Nell White Maxie was born 30, 1942 to the late Superintendant Louis Hilton White, Sr. and Missionary Charles Ann Young-White. She was born into a Godly home and is the second of six children. The proud graduate of Booker T Washington High School and attended Grambling State University. Pastor Jean N. Maxie was the founder and pastor of Open Door Ministries Outreach and Enrichment , Inc. that was established in 1999. It was in a prayer meeting that God called her to preach the gospel to a dying world and also shepherd His people. It was at that time God gave her His word from Revelation 3:8 I know thy works: Behold, I have set before thee an Open Door and no man can shut it. and the entire 43rd chapter of Isaiah. This word from God revolutionized Pastor Maxies mind and she began to preach on the streets of Shreveport, Louisiana where many souls were saved and delivered. Over a span of forty years, Pastor Maxie has served as Church Administrator of the 80th Street Church of God in Christ where her father was pastor. Pastor Maxie also served in many areas such as: Regional Coordinator of the State Mission Department, Jurisdictional Outreach Coordinator, District Missionary, National Evangelist and General Assembly Delegate for the National Church. She has an Associates Degree in Business Administration and is a Certified Christian Counselor. God gave Pastor Maxie many tutors and mentors; bestowing upon her much knowledge and experience to assist her in doing what God had so destined her to do. Pastor Maxie was under the leadership of Bishop Marvin L. Winans, of Perfecting Fellowship International and he is pastor of Perfecting Church in Detroit, Michigan. Pastor Maxie loved her PFI family and especially loved Morning Glory which is intercessory prayer. Pastor Maxie lived and loved to pray. Pastor Maxie was preceded in death by her parents. Her daughter Amanda Denise Maxie and her youngest brother Benjamin James White. She leaves to cherish two sons Darrin Dominique Maxie and Russell DWayne Maxie. One brother Louis Hilton White Jr. (Cynthia). Three Sisters Willie Mae (Lugene Brooks), Delores Ann (Thurmon Powell) and Amanda Rosetta Snelson. Four grandchildren Daron Maxie, Dewana Maxie, Courtney Maxie and Shania Maxie. Pastor Maxie also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and the church family of Open Door Ministries. James is survived by three sons, James Jimmy Maxfield, Jr. of Eunice, Jonathon Maxfield of Eunice, and Brian K. Maxfield and wife Veronica of Eunice; one sister, Barbara Mercer of Nashville, TN; one brother, Paul Dean Maxfield of Arizona; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Obituary: BOSSIER CITY, LA - Leon Maxey was born 17th, 1936 to parents Roy L. and Janie Martin Maxey. He went to be with his Heavenly Father on 13th, 2016. He was born in Webster Parish, LA near Heflin in his Grandmothers house. He lived in Sibley, LA until his family moved to Bossier City in 1941. Services for Leon will be held at Hill Crest on , 17th, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel. There will be a visitation prior to the service on , 16th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Burial will take place at Hill Crest Memorial Park following the service. Leon attended Bossier Elementary School for six years. His family moved to Haughton in 1948, and attended Haughton High School, graduating in 1954. graduation, he spent three years in the U.S. Army, serving over one year of that in the territory of Alaska. Leon went to trade school on the G.I Bill and spent the next 43 years in the Air Conditioning Trade. Leon married Sandra Walters in 1960 and had two children, Donna and David. marriage, Leon and Sandra lived in Bossier City, Minden (two times), West Monroe, Vidalia, New Orleans (two times) and in Slidell, LA. While in Slidell, he was a partner in a small air conditioning business for three years. He moved his family back to Bossier City in 1971 and after working for other companies, started and ran his own company, Airline Air Conditioning. 17 years, Leon was forced to retire when he had his second heart attack. Leon was a Master Mason for 44 years and a member of the Haughton Lodge #95. Leon served as a Master of the lodge in 1975 and again in 2013. Leon was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a Shriner. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Donna Goodrich and brother, Billy Joe Maxey. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Maxey; son, James David Maxey, Sr. and wife Ashley; grandchildren, Cristyn Nicole Maxey and James David Maxey Jr.; sister, Kathryn Johnson; sister-in-law, Catherine Maxey and Karen Trunnell and husband Rick and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Pallbearers are David Maxey, Jr., Clint Moseley, Jr., Kenneth Farris, Rick Trunnell, Jack Navalance and Austin McDonnell. Honorary Pallbearers are members of the Haughton Lodge #95. The family would like to express our thanks to Southern Hospice and to Willis Knighton .
