Obituary: Althea Ray Martin, of Metairie, Louisiana, departed this life on 15, 2016. She is survived by her loving family, including her sons, J. Eugene (Gene) Martin Jr. (wife – Wendy), Randall (Randy) Martin (wife – Gayle), and her daughter, Brenda Martin, as well as four grandchildren, Aaron Martin, James Martin, Jennifer Martin Giammaria (husband – Jason), and Joseph Martin. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on 15, 1924 to Charles Ray and Myrtle Campesta Ray. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, J. Eugene Martin, Sr., her sisters Ramona Bersuder and Thais Lally, and her new born son, Charles Jude Martin. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. No one ever left her house hungry. She loved cooking, especially gumbo and crawfish bisque. She enjoyed all of the parades, especially the Irish-Italian Parade. We thank the staffs of Colonial Oaks Living and the Lacombe Centre for their patience and caring attention the last few years.
