Obituary: BOBBY RAY MARDIS COX FUNERAL HOME BASTROP, LOUISIANA services for Mr. Bobby Ray Mardis will be held 2:00 P.M. , 2, 2017, at Harmony Baptist Church near Collinston, Louisiana. Brother Allan Eppinette will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Memorial Park under the direction of Cox of Bastrop. The family will receive friends on , 2nd, beginning at 1:00 P.M. until time for services at Harmony Baptist Church. Bobby Ray Mardis was born in Bastrop, Louisiana on 14, 1936 to the late Edna Lamkin Mardis and Rudy Mardis. He passed away on , 30, 2017, following a brief illness, at Morehouse General Hospital in Bastrop. Bobby is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, R.C. Shug Mardis. Mr. Mardis was a faithful member of the Harmony Baptist Church and a lifelong farmer in Morehouse Parish. He enjoyed watching westerns and bullriding on T.V. He also enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing and hunting. Bobby was always good for joke and a laugh and he was known to do alot of thinking with his eyes closed. Most of all Bobby loved his family and cherished the moments spent with his wife, children, and his grandchildren which he loved dearly. Surviving Mr. Mardis is his wife of sixty-one years, Mae Winnon Mardis of Bastrop, Louisiana his three children, Melinda Bryan and her husband Jerry of Bastrop, Louisiana Ted Mardis and his wife Vicki of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Barry Mardis and his wife Teresa of Choudrant, Louisiana. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Rachel Waller, Morgan Johnston and her husband Blake, Troy Bryan and his wife Sami, Hannah Hargis and her husband Brady, Clay Mardis and his wife Diana, Kelsey Mardis, and Krislyn Mardis, nine great-grandchildren, and his brother, Larry Mardis. Serving as pallbearers will be Troy Bryan, Clay Mardis, Brady Hargis, Joe Kinney, Gary Kinney, Jeff Winnon, and Randy Winnon. For those who wish, the family suggest planned memorials be made to the Harmony Valley Youth Camp, P.O. Box 789, Bastrop, Louisiana 71221-0789. |
