Obituary: BOBBY RAY MARDIS COX FUNERAL HOME BASTROP, LOUISIANA services for Mr. Bobby Ray Mardis will be held 2:00 P.M. , 2, 2017, at Harmony Baptist Church near Collinston, Louisiana. Brother Allan Eppinette will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Memorial Park under the direction of Cox of Bastrop. The family will receive friends on , 2nd, beginning at 1:00 P.M. until time for services at Harmony Baptist Church. Bobby Ray Mardis was born in Bastrop, Louisiana on 14, 1936 to the late Edna Lamkin Mardis and Rudy Mardis. He passed away on , 30, 2017, following a brief illness, at Morehouse General Hospital in Bastrop. Bobby is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, R.C. Shug Mardis. Mr. Mardis was a faithful member of the Harmony Baptist Church and a lifelong farmer in Morehouse Parish. He enjoyed watching westerns and bullriding on T.V. He also enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing and hunting. Bobby was always good for joke and a laugh and he was known to do alot of thinking with his eyes closed. Most of all Bobby loved his family and cherished the moments spent with his wife, children, and his grandchildren which he loved dearly. Surviving Mr. Mardis is his wife of sixty-one years, Mae Winnon Mardis of Bastrop, Louisiana his three children, Melinda Bryan and her husband Jerry of Bastrop, Louisiana Ted Mardis and his wife Vicki of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Barry Mardis and his wife Teresa of Choudrant, Louisiana. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Rachel Waller, Morgan Johnston and her husband Blake, Troy Bryan and his wife Sami, Hannah Hargis and her husband Brady, Clay Mardis and his wife Diana, Kelsey Mardis, and Krislyn Mardis, nine great-grandchildren, and his brother, Larry Mardis. Serving as pallbearers will be Troy Bryan, Clay Mardis, Brady Hargis, Joe Kinney, Gary Kinney, Jeff Winnon, and Randy Winnon. For those who wish, the family suggest planned memorials be made to the Harmony Valley Youth Camp, P.O. Box 789, Bastrop, Louisiana 71221-0789.

Devoted father of Emily Kathryn DiLeo and Marcus Lucas DiLeo, Jr.; son of Antoinette Russo Fitzpatrick and the late Dr. Vincent Louis DiLeo, brother of Dr. Vincent L. DiLeo, Jr., (Mary), Gina M. DiLeo and Annette D. Shaw (David). Also survived by nephew Vincent L. "Trey" DiLeo, III, nieces Lauren Favret, Claudia Favret, Meredith Shaw and Corinne DiLeo. A native of New Orleans and a graduate of LSU School of Medicine, Marc practiced the art and science of medicine for 32 years. He received the Owl Club Award from Tulane University for outstanding mentorship to Medical Student in 1985 while doing a fellowship in pediatrics. He enjoyed composing and listening to music, history, cooking, gardening, and spending time with his cherished children. He ardently sought to expand his mind and knowledge through studies of an eclectic range of sciences and humanities associated with various philosophies, languages, theories, and arts. He deeply valued the many aesthetics of life.

Obituary: services for Jerry Jesse Marcotte Sr. will be held , 18, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Little Pass Baptist Church in Charenton. Rev. Dr. Chris Holloway and Rev. Bobby Hodnett will conduct the services. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Beau Pré in Jeanerette. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army who honorably served his God and Country stateside during the Korean War. Jerrys work career was rooted in the Oil Industry, of which he worked for Texaco for more than 36 years until retiring in 1989. A master craftsman in woodworking, he enjoyed cabinet making, building boats and building furniture. He was also an avid outdoors man who enjoyed fishing and hunting as well as traveling, especially family trips to the Smoky Mountains. Most importantly, Jerry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who placed his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He will be sadly missed by all. Those he leaves to cherish his memory include his wife of nearly 61 years, Alberta Bailey Marcotte; four children, Lisa Bourliea and her husband Herb, Jerry Marcotte, Jr. and his wife Chris, Donna Romero and her husband Wayne, and Vicki Rogers and her husband Brent; five grandchildren, Bret Bourliea and his fiancée Amanda Seibert, Erin Lawrence and her husband Ryan, Lindsay Guiterrez and her husband Ralph, Patrick Marcotte and his wife Emily and Emily Broussard and her husband Damian; and four great grandchildren, Aubrey Lawrence, Wyatt Guiterrez, Willow Guiterrez and Beau Marcotte. Obituary: services for Elwood Red Marcotte Sr. will be held , 19, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Iberts Mortuary in Franklin, with his grandson, Rev. Lyndon Marcotte officiating. Interment will follow in Teche Gardens in Verdunville. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Iberts from 10:00 AM until time of service. Red entered eternal life at the age of 88 on , 16, 2015, at Teche Regional Medical in Morgan City. Elwood served in the United States Army, stationed in Fort Hood, Texas. As the ship he was on entered the Port of Leyte, Philippines on 14, 1945, the loudspeaker announced Japan had surrendered and World War II was over. He worked most of his life as owner and operator of Marcotte Boat Rentals, Inc. and Marsh Buggies, Inc., servicing oilfield related businesses all throughout South Louisiana and Southeast Texas areas with tug boats, crew boats, and marsh buggies. As a young man, he began to watch and learn from his father-in-law, the late Dewey Burns, how to build wooden bateaus. From that knowledge, he became skilled in building any kind of boat, wooden or aluminum; it became natural to him. He and several of his brothers all had the talent of carpentry and could build anything, from houses, to boats and furniture. All throughout his life he enjoyed being on the water, shrimping, fishing, crabbing, and crawfishing. He became quite the cook and always enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. Elwood was born on 12, 1926 in Charenton to the late Oneil Marcotte and the late Annis Story Marcotte. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Burns Marcotte; six brothers, McKinley, James, Ernest, Elmer, Robert, and Alvin Marcotte; and one sister, Ruth Belle Burgess. He is survived by three daughters, Patricia Lee of New Iberia, Julie Marcotte of Morgan City, and Cindy Fuhrer of ville; one son, Elwood Marcotte Jr. of Alexandria; and his youngest brother, Jerry Marcotte Sr. of Sorrel. He leaves behind nine beautiful grandchildren, four great grandsons, and two great great granddaughters, and a host of nieces and nephews. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Baron Trahan, Jeremy Marcotte, Zachary Fuhrer, Beau Fuhrer, Devin Trahan, and Timothy Marcotte. Margie is survived by her husband, Ernest Charles Marcombe, Sr.; children, Aimee Ann Marcombe (Ricardo), Julie Marcombe Brown (Scott) and Ernest Charles Marcombe, Jr. (Noha); grandchildren, Ashley Lofton, Kastia Lofton Ladner (Brent), Bethany Brown Wicker, Billy Brown, Nicholas Marcombe, Natalie Richardson (Scott), Zoie Marcombe, Zachariah Marcombe, and Elijah Marcombe; great grandchildren, Eli Gaubert, Elena Gaubert, Angelina Ladner, Dolton Ladner, Henley Wicker, and Arya Richardson; sisters, Gail Vicknair Arceneaux (Gene), and Susan Vicknair Dick (Bryan); and 4 nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Vicknair and the late Gladys Gros Vicknair. Services will be held privately.
