Obituary: If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfections comes, the imperfection disappears. And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. These three but the greatest of these is love 1 Corinthians 13 This verse had special meaning to Anne. She lived her life by these words. She had faith in the people in her life and the cause she supported. She had hope for those in her life to become the best that they can be and helped them every step of the way. But most of all she had love. She had a strong love for life and those in her life; and because of this she truly knew how to live. Anne had strong relationships with her family and friends. She constantly supported and kept in contact with them. She was at every soccer game for her grandsons, Daniel and Patrick, and attended every dance recital for her granddaughter, Katie. She consistently cheered them on, and in her attendance, she touched many lives beyond that of her grandchildren. Anne was the mascot for the boys Andover Central varsity soccer team, winning the love of many player and their parents. She would take yearly trips to Chesterton to visit her son, Tom, daughter-in-law, Cathy, and granddaughter, Chris. There was never a dull moment with Anne. She would play cards, visit various Chesterton restaurants, and go to the Indiana Dunes. During these trips, she would visit with her lifelong friends, as well as her family. For many summers, Chris would come down and spend a week with Anne in Houston. would always spend a day at the beach in Galveston, attend Cubs/Astros baseball games, and suntan in her pool. Anne spent Thanksgivings with her brother, Tom, and sister-in-law, Lee, in Oklahoma and her Christmas with her daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Bill, and their family in Kansas. Family was a big part of her life and she made a constant effort to be with them for every occasion. She had a major role in the organizations she supported such as Girl Scouts, Kappa Alpha Theta, and Sigma Alpha. She dedicated her life to these organizations and the friends she made through them. She was involved in Girl Scouts for 48 years and was the president of the San Jacinto Girl Scout Council in Houston for a number of years. She was a member of the collegiate social fraternity Kappa Alpha Theta since 1946 and was an active alumni in both Houston and Andover. She was able to support her granddaughter, Katie, as she joined the same sorority. Anne attended annual conventions all over the country for her social fraternity Sigma Alpha. She was national president and national executive secretary for the same fraternity. The one thing that people remember most is how full of life she was. She lived for her time with family and friends. She loved her annual Christmas cookie and Dinosaur parties with her close friends in Texas. She used to be in charge of the Cedar Lane float each year for the Fourth of parade in Houston. She would decorate it with her brother and daughters families and neighbors each year. She just recently took a trip to Israel with First Baptist of Pasadena. She enjoyed every second of it, but the highlight of the trip was getting baptized in the Jordan River. She would travel to Florida each spring to visit her good friends. She would always have a group of friends to meet up with whether they were from high school or just recently made. She worked at Talbots for many years and made many friends in the process. Every member of the family has learned to play her favorite game, Michigan Rummy. Michigan Rummy was played at every family get together. Anne was always excited to introduce her game to anyone willing to learn, but her favorite part was beating everyone. She moved to Andover almost one year ago and since then she has become the grandma to many of her grandsons friends. She was active at the YMCA in Andover and filled her days with shopping and spending time with Peggy and her family, whether at family dinners, attending a high school sporting events, or spending the afternoon watching movies with her granddaughter, Katie. She was involved in Bible study in both Houston and Andover. She had so much enthusiasm for life. She touched the lives of everyone she met and will be greatly missed by everyone. She is survived by her son Tom (Cathy) Moeller, her daughter Peggy (Bill), her grandchildren Chris (Dave) Sullivan, Katie Collins, Daniel Collins, and Patrick Collins, and her sister-in-law Lee Seaton. She was predeceased by her husband Warren Moeller and her brother Tom Seaton. Memorials may be made to Heartsprings, 8700 East 29th St. North, Wichita, KS 67226; to the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto, 3110 Southwest Freeway, Houston, Texas; or to Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity, 8740 Founders Road, Indianapolis, IN 46268. |
