Obituary: Patrick J. Pat McPoland, age 50, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away at 2:31 p.m., , 11, 2014. To honor Pats life, funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on , 19, 2014, at Holy Spirit Parish, Holy Ghost Church, with Rev. Kyle M. Digmann officiating. To celebrate Pats life, family and friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on , 18, 2014, at Behr , 1491 Main St., where there will be a parish wake service held at 6:30 p.m. Military honors will be accorded by the Dubuque Marine Corps League. Burial will be in St. Patricks , Epworth, IA. Pat was born on 14, 1964, in Dubuque, IA, son of John Jack and Mary Betty (Schmerbach) McPoland. Pat graduated from Hempstead High School in 1982. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1984-1989. He was employed at Rentech Nitrogen Plant in East Dubuque. Pat will be remembered for his sense of humor and his work ethic. He enjoyed the outdoor life, especially hunting and fishing. Pat is survived by, his children, Zachary McPoland, Taylor McPoland, Terry McPoland, Conner Kramer, all of Dubuque, his grandchildren, Evelyn, Gage, Adriana and Payton, his parents, Jack and Betty McPoland, Epworth, IA, his siblings, Mark (Jodie) McPoland, Epworth, IA, Lori (Gary) Milledge, Jodi (Douglas) Warden, both of Dubuque. Pat was preceded in death by his grandparents, William (Mary) McPoland and Otto (Loretta) Schmerbach. In lieu of flowers, a Patrick J. Pat McPoland memorial fund has been established. |

Obituary: Lori R. McPoland, age 44, of Dubuque, IA, passed away at 6:05 a.m. on May 28, 2015, in Dubuque, Iowa, after a lifelong battle with bipolar disorder. To honor Loris life, funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on , 3, 2015, at Holy Spirit Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 2215 Windsor Avenue with Rev. Dwayne J. Thoman officiating. To celebrate Loris life, family and friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on , 2, 2015, at Behr , 1491 Main Street, where there will be a parish scripture wake service held at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary . Lori was born on 30, 1970, in Dubuque, IA, daughter of Thomas and Jean (Hentges) Hohmann. Lori graduated from Wahlert High School, class of 1989. graduation she was united in marriage to Jim McPoland on 10, 1989, at Holy Ghost Church. Lori was a full time wife, mother and homemaker who dearly treasured caring for her family. She loved being pregnant and always cherished her role as a mom. She spent her spare time dancing, crocheting, writing in her journal and watching Dancing with the Stars. Loris greatest joy came from making people laugh and smile and she will forever be fondly cherished by all who knew and loved her. Lori is survived by her husband, Jim McPoland, Dubuque, IA; three children, Samantha McPoland, Jeana McPoland, John McPoland, all of Dubuque, IA; her mother, Jean Hohmann, Dubuque, IA; her siblings, Rob (Alison) Hohmann, Dubuque, IA, Steve (Colleen Peckham) Hohmann, Dubuque, IA, Colette (Tim) Steffen, Cuba City, WI, Amanda (Jason) Mathews, Hobart, IN; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Lori R. McPoland was preceded in death by her father, Tom, her grandparents, Ray and Dorothy Hohmann and Loras Hentges and Mildred (Henry) Schulte; and a brother-in-law, John McPoland. A Lori R.
