Obituary: Roseann M. McComish, age 91, of Dubuque, was called home peacefully at 5:53 p.m., on , May 2, 2017, at Stonehill , surrounded by her loving family. To honor Roseanns life, funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on , May 6, 2017, at Holy Trinity Church, 1701 Rhomberg, with Rev. Aaron R. Junge officiating. To celebrate Roseanns life, family and friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., on , at Behr , 1491 Main Street. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet . Roseann was born on 15, 1925, in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Frank and Pansy (Savary) Mullen. Roseann was united in marriage to Robert McComish on 28, 1960, in Dubuque. were blessed with 33 years, and 4 children, before he was called home ahead of her on 9, 1994. Roseann was a devoted wife and mother who took great pride in caring for her family and home. Family was always the most important aspect of Roseanns life, but she also had a great love for nature and the great outdoors. She could often be found out walking, enjoying a family picnic at the park, or even just sitting and watching the birds. Roseann also enjoyed curling up with a good book and embracing a nice little escape for a few hours. We are deeply saddened with the lose of our sweet mother, but thankfully take comfort in knowing she is reunited with the love of her life, Robert, and all of her loved ones whove been called home ahead of her. Those left to cherish Roseanns memory include her children, Suzanne Fox, Alice, TX, Diane McComish, San Antonio, TX, Jerry (Karen) Dress, Camarillo, CA and Greg (Mary) McComish, San Antonio, TX; her 4 grandchildren; her 6 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister-in-law, Mary Mullen, Dubuque. Roseann was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert McComish; a sister, Frances (LeRoy) Stahl; and 3 brothers, Clement (Jeanann) Mullen, John Abe Mullen and Donald Mullen. A Roseann M. McComish memorial fund has been established, which will be distributed among her favorite charities. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Stonehill for all of their kind, compassionate, and professional care of Roseann, and her family, these past few years. |

Obituary: Magdalen C. Mag McComish, age 99, of Dubuque, IA, passed away peacefully at 3:10 p.m. on , 16, 2015, at Bethany . To honor Mags life, funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on , 21, 2015, at St. Patricks Church, 1425 Iowa Street, with Msgr. Thomas E. Toale officiating. To celebrate Mags life, family and friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on , 21, 2015, at Behr , 1491 Main Street. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary . Mag was born on 22, 1916, in Spechts Ferry, Iowa, daughter of John E. and Clara (Schmitt) Boleyn. As a child, Mag attended Ss. Peter and Paul School in Sherrill and eventually continued on to become a proud graduate of the Immaculate Conception Academy in Dubuque. She was united in marriage to Louis McComish in 1939 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Dubuque. were blessed with three beautiful children and 25 years together before he was called home much too early. Mag diligently excelled as a proofreader at Brown Publishing for over 15 years until her retirement. She was a loyal and longtime member of St. Patricks Catholic Church and also valued her opportunity to serve her community as a volunteer at the Ham House Museum. As any true Dubuquer can usually claim, some of her fondest moments with family and friends would be discovered around the card table with a good partner and great Euchre hand. She was a naturally gifted and talented seamstress who especially enjoyed creating dolls, bears and curtains. Family was definitely the most important aspect of Mags life and she dearly loved her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family. We have been fortunate and appreciate the chance we were given to love Mag during her 99 good years here with us and yet our hearts truly ache with her swift and sudden loss. We trust and have faith that she is now safe in the arms of her Lord and once again reunited with Louis, her son David, and all the rest of her loving family who were called home ahead of her. Mag was an amazing and uniquely wonderful woman and will be deeply and sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Those left to cherish Mags memory include, her daughters, Cindy (Terry) Conlon, Canton, GA, and Linda Houselog, Davenport, IA; her grandchildren, Tim (Elma) Conlon, Atlanta, GA, Jeff (Christina) Conlon, Duncanville, TX, Matt (Samantha) Houselog, Davenport, IA, Amy (Dustyn) Turner, Ames, IA; her great-grandchilden, Aurora, Aubree, Ainsley and Amaya Houselog, Estella Turner, Dominick San Miguel, and Anthony Esquivel; her siblings, Raymond Boleyn, Dubuque, IA; and her sisters-in-law, Marie Boleyn, and Mary Jane Boleyn, both of Dubuque, IA; and several nieces and nephews. Mag was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Louis; a son, David McComish; her sisters, Ethel Boleyn, Mary (John) Genz, Helen (Chuck) Weise and Lorraine (Bob) Fitzgerald; her brothers, Roger, Allan Bud Boleyn and Bob (JoAnn) Boleyn; and her sister-in-law, Jane Boleyn. Obituary: Tim McCombs, 64 of Prairie City, passed away 25, 2017. A visitation will be held 6 to 8:00 p.m., , 27, 2017 at Prairie City United Methodist Church, in Prairie City. A Memorial Service will be held 10:30 a.m., 28th, also at the church. Tim was born in Poughkeepsie, New York, and moved with his family to Colorado, where he graduated High School. He lived in numerous places throughout his life until finally making his home in Iowa. He made friends wherever he went and kept in touch with them. He was a lifelong Broncos fan, enjoyed fishing, and being at the beach. Tim is survived by his wife Kristina Tina Kavadas; 4 children Nick McCombs, Skylar McCombs, Cade McCombs, and Camden McCombs; sisters, Sue Brown and Irene McCombs, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Marilyn McCombs, and a brother Dan. |
