Obituary: Blanche M. McCauley, of Dubuque, IA, passed away at 3:25 p.m. on , 8, 2014, in Dubuque. To honor Blanches life, funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on , 12, 2014, at St. Patricks Church, 1425 Iowa St., with Rev. Msgr. Thomas E. Toale officiating. To celebrate Blanches life friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on , 11, 2014, at Behr , 1491 Main St., where there will be a rosary said at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary . Blanche was born on May 5, in Bridgeport, WI, daughter of James and Mary (Ceska) Cuchna. Blanche worked her way through high school in the home of Dr. Shiparo in Prairie du Chien, WI, doing household duties and caring for his children. Blanche met Vincent J. McCauley while working at the Prairie Maid Bakery. married on 3, 1952, at St. Johns Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien, WI. He preceded her in death on 24, 2000. In 1954, Blanche and Vincent moved to Dubuque when Vincent became The Baker at Loras . She was a stay-at- home mother for 3 years until she went to work with Vincent at Loras in 1958. While there she held several jobs including cooking, housekeeping, helping with student services, organizing students for snow removal and working in the chapel. She worked at Loras for 52 years until her retirement in 2010. Blanches memberships include: St. Patricks Church, Quarter Century Member of Loras , the American Legion Auxiliary Dubuque Post 6, D.A.V. Club, Boys/Girls Town, where she was an honorary citizen, St. Jude Shrine, Baltimore, MA, Don Bosco, Salesian Missionaries in MA, the National St. Jude Shrine of Chicago, IL and a perpetual member of the Divine Word Donor Club. Blanche is survived by, her daughter, Catherine (Lloyd) Klein, Dubuque, IA, her sister-in-law, Peg Stoeffler, Prairie du Chien, WI, and many nieces and nephews. Blanche was preceded in death by, her parents, her husband, Vincent, her sister, Anna Mae (Andrew) Balk, her brothers, James Pat (Marian) Cuchna Jr. and Joseph (Glee) Cuchna. In lieu of flowers, a Blanche McCauley memorial fund has been established. The family would like to thank all of the wonderful people who have been part of Blanches life over the past year. |
